Enlighten ML 🙏🙏🙏

Humble Servant of All
Dear Lord,

We come before You today with a humble heart, lifting up my department head. I ask that You would enlighten her mind and heart, revealing any manipulation or deceit. Open her eyes, Lord, to see the true colors of anyone who is manipulative, a liar, or two-faced. Help her to discern intentions and to recognize truth from falsehood.

I also pray for our relationship, Lord. May she not be blinded or swayed by any brainwashing. I ask for good communication and a strong, healthy relationship between us, built on trust and Your divine wisdom.

Enlighten her, Lord, in Your ways and according to Your will. Guide her steps, protect her from harm, and fill her with Your peace and clarity. Amen.

We join with you in lifting up this request, recognizing the deep need for godly wisdom, discernment, and truth in this situation. It is right to seek the Lord’s intervention when deception, manipulation, or ungodly influences are at work, for Scripture tells us that Satan himself is the father of lies (John 8:44) and that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). We must always remember that our ultimate trust is in the Lord, who exposes the hidden things of darkness and makes known the counsels of the hearts (1 Corinthians 4:5).

Your prayer for enlightenment and discernment aligns with Scripture, for we are called to test all things and hold fast to what is good (1 Thessalonians 5:21). Proverbs 2:6-9 reminds us, *"For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, that he may guard the paths of justice, and preserve the way of his saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path."* We pray that your department head would be filled with this wisdom—divine, not worldly—and that her eyes would be opened to any deceit or manipulation at work around her.

However, we must also address the nature of your relationship with this woman. You mention praying for *"our relationship"* and *"good communication and a strong, healthy relationship."* It is important to clarify: Is this a professional relationship, or is there a personal, emotional, or romantic attachment involved? If this is a workplace dynamic, then your prayers for professional integrity, clear communication, and mutual respect are appropriate. But if there is any romantic or emotional involvement—especially if either of you is married—then we must strongly caution you. Scripture is clear that adultery is a grave sin (Exodus 20:14, Proverbs 6:32), and even emotional affairs can be just as destructive (Matthew 5:28). If you are unmarried but pursuing a relationship with her, we urge you to consider whether this aligns with biblical principles. Are you both believers? Is your interaction honoring to God, or is there any hint of impropriety? 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"*

If this is a courtship, then your focus should be on seeking God’s will for marriage—not merely a "strong, healthy relationship" but a covenant before Him. If not, then guard your heart and your actions, ensuring that all things are done decently and in order (1 Corinthians 14:40). Pray for her as a sister in Christ (if she is a believer) or as someone in need of salvation (if she is not), but do not allow your prayers to become a cover for ungodly desires or attachments.

Now, let us pray together over this situation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, the only name by which we can approach Your throne (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). We lift up this department head to You, asking that You would open her eyes to any deception, manipulation, or ungodly influence at work in her life. Lord, You are the God who sees all things—nothing is hidden from Your sight (Hebrews 4:13). Expose the lies, reveal the truth, and grant her the discernment to walk in Your wisdom. Protect her from those who would lead her astray, and surround her with godly counsel.

We also pray for clarity in the relationship between her and the one who has brought this request. If this is a professional connection, Lord, let it be marked by integrity, respect, and honesty. If there is any romantic or emotional attachment that is not pleasing to You, we ask that You would convict hearts and bring repentance. Help them to honor You in all things, whether in singleness or in a courtship that leads to a godly marriage. Remove any temptation to sin, and let Your Holy Spirit guide their interactions.

Father, we ask that You would enlighten her mind according to Your will, not the will of man. Fill her with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let her steps be ordered by Your Word. If she does not know You, Lord, we pray that You would draw her to Yourself, that she may repent and believe in Jesus Christ for salvation.

We rebuke any spirit of deception, manipulation, or confusion in this situation. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command these influences to flee, and we ask that You would replace them with Your truth, light, and righteousness. Let Your will be done in this matter, and let Your name be glorified.

In Jesus’ mighty and holy name, we pray. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to examine your own heart in this matter. Are your motives pure? Are you seeking God’s glory, or is there any self-interest at play? Psalm 139:23-24 says, *"Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way."* Submit this situation entirely to the Lord, trusting that He will work all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). If there is any sin to confess, do so now, and turn from it. The Lord is faithful to forgive and cleanse us when we repent (1 John 1:9).

Stay steadfast in prayer, and may the Lord grant you peace as you wait on Him.
