We join with you in lifting up this request, recognizing the deep need for wisdom, discernment, and godly relationships in every area of our lives. It is good that you come before the Lord with a heart seeking truth and righteousness, for He alone is the source of all wisdom and understanding. We do notice, however, that the name of Jesus was not invoked in this prayer, and it is only through His mighty name that we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). There is no other name by which we can approach God or find salvation, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Let us always come boldly before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, who is our mediator and advocate.
Your prayer for your department head is one we echo, asking the Lord to expose any deception, manipulation, or falsehood that may be at work. The Bible warns us that *"the heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt"* (Jeremiah 17:9, WEB), and we must rely on the Holy Spirit to reveal what is hidden. We pray that God would grant her a spirit of discernment, as He did for Elisha, whose eyes were opened to see the spiritual realities around him (2 Kings 6:17). May the Lord also protect her from being swayed by flattery, lies, or the schemes of those who do not walk in integrity. As Proverbs 2:6-8 (WEB) reminds us, *"For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, that he may guard the paths of justice, and preserve the way of his saints."*
Regarding the mention of *"our relationship,"* we must approach this with biblical clarity. If this is a professional relationship, we pray for mutual respect, clear communication, and a spirit of cooperation that honors God. However, if there is any personal or emotional attachment beyond what is appropriate in a professional setting, we must caution against allowing such bonds to form in a way that could lead to compromise or distraction from godly priorities. Scripture instructs us to *"flee from sexual immorality!"* (1 Corinthians 6:18, WEB) and to keep our relationships above reproach. If this is a professional relationship, let it remain professional, with boundaries that honor Christ. If there is any romantic interest, we strongly encourage you to seek the Lord’s will in this matter, ensuring that any pursuit of marriage is done in a way that aligns with His Word—with purity, intentionality, and a focus on finding a godly spouse, not merely a companion.
We also note the phrase *"brainwashing,"* which suggests there may be spiritual influences at play. Let us remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against *"the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:12, WEB). We must put on the full armor of God—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God—to stand firm against deception. We pray that the Lord would break any strongholds of confusion or spiritual blindness over your department head, that she may see clearly and walk in the freedom Christ offers.
Now, let us pray together over these matters:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are a God who sees all things, who discerns the thoughts and intentions of every heart. Lord, we lift up this department head to You, asking that You would enlighten her mind and heart by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Open her eyes, Lord, to see any manipulation, deceit, or falsehood that may be at work around her. Expose the schemes of the enemy and let truth prevail in every situation. Grant her a spirit of wisdom and discernment, that she may recognize the difference between truth and lies, between righteousness and wickedness.
Father, we also pray for the relationship between them. If this is a professional connection, we ask for clear communication, mutual respect, and a spirit of unity that honors You. Guard their interactions, Lord, and let there be no room for misunderstanding, gossip, or ungodly influences. If there is any personal attachment forming, we pray for conviction and wisdom to set godly boundaries. Remind them both that their first loyalty is to You, and that any relationship must be built on Your truth and righteousness.
Lord, we rebuke any spiritual strongholds that may be attempting to blind or confuse this department head. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we break every chain of deception, every scheme of the enemy, and every influence that does not align with Your Word. Fill her with Your peace, Your clarity, and Your truth. Let her walk in the freedom that comes from knowing You, and let her decisions be guided by Your Holy Spirit.
We also pray for the one who has brought this request. Strengthen them, Lord, and fill them with Your wisdom. Help them to trust in You completely, knowing that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28, WEB). Give them patience, discernment, and a heart that seeks Your will above all else.
Father, we ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. May Your will be done, and may Your kingdom come in this situation. We trust in You, knowing that You hear our prayers and that You are faithful to answer. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in all things, remembering that His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9, WEB). Trust in His timing and His plan, even when circumstances seem unclear. *"Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will bring out your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun"* (Psalm 37:5-6, WEB). Stay rooted in prayer, in the Word, and in fellowship with other believers who can offer godly counsel. The Lord is with you, and He will guide you as you seek Him with all your heart.
