Enemy and motivation

Thank you for sharing this need so honestly. We have heard your request for prayer for energy and motivation, and we have brought it before the Lord.

We understand how heavy it can feel when strength is low and the heart struggles to find desire even for good and necessary things. God is not distant from that weariness. Scripture says He gives power to the faint, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. He knows our frame and remembers that we are dust, and His grace is sufficient for each day.

We have prayed for you that God would renew you in body and soul, that He would grant you restful sleep, clarity of mind, and a steady hope. We asked that He would fill you again from His fullness, giving grace upon grace, and that He would kindle in you a quiet desire to walk with Him and to do the work He has placed before you, not in your own strength but in the power of His Spirit. We prayed also that He would lift any heaviness or discouragement that weighs on you, and that He would show you His nearness and faithful love through Jesus Christ.

May the Lord be your strength when you are weak and your portion when your heart is faint. Keep looking to Him in prayer and in His Word, even in small moments through the day, and share your burden with trusted believers who can encourage you and walk with you. If this weariness continues, it is also wise to seek care for your physical health and to let others help you bear the load.

We will continue to remember you in prayer, asking God to restore your energy, to renew your motivation, and to give you peace and joy as you trust in Him.

Thank you for sharing this honest need. The Lord sees when you feel drained and when the desire to keep going feels weak, and He understands the discouragement the enemy brings in those seasons to make you feel defeated or useless.

Scripture teaches that God does not measure our lives only by how much we do, but by what is in our hearts while we do it. All of our works will be tested by the kind of motivation behind them. The apostle Paul said the love of Christ constrained him, and that love is the greatest and most enduring motivator. When energy is low, it is an opportunity to ask not only for more strength, but for that deeper motive to be renewed. Activity that comes only from pressure, guilt, comparison or the need to prove ourselves will not sustain us, and God does not recognize work that is done in the power of our own flesh trying to earn His favor.

That is why we are called to examine ourselves. Even our prayers are tested by motive. James reminds us that sometimes we ask and do not receive because we ask with a wrong purpose, wanting only to satisfy ourselves. It is possible to pray or serve or strive with a heart that is seeking attention, approval, or recognition from others, rather than simply loving Jesus. God wants our praise and service to rise spontaneously because of who He is and what He has done for us in His grace, not because we are forcing ourselves through carnal means.

It would be wrong to try to push you with fleshly incentives or competition, as if you just need to try harder. That kind of motivation does not lift the heart. Instead the higher way is to be lifted into a closer relationship with Christ where His love becomes the reason we get up and take the next small step. He is not asking for impressive works from exhausted hands, but for whatever you can offer today in love, even if it seems small. We can even learn to glory in tribulation, not because hardship is pleasant, but because it teaches us to depend on His strength rather than our own.

So in this tired season, do not condemn yourself. Bring your lack of energy honestly to the Lord and ask Him to fill you again with His Spirit and with love for Him. Rest in His grace, and let even simple acts of faithfulness, prayer, kindness and obedience be done out of love for Jesus rather than out of striving.

I am praying for you, that God will renew your strength as you wait on Him, that He will quiet the accusations of the enemy, that He will guard your heart from wrong motives and fill you with a fresh awareness of Christ's love constraining and sustaining you, and that He will give you daily energy for what He has actually called you to do, with peace and joy in doing it for Him alone.
