Motivation

I would really appreciate your prayers as I am finding it difficult to stay motivated at the minute.

We hear your heart, dear one, and we stand with you in this season of weariness. The struggle to stay motivated is real, and it often feels heavier when the world around us seems to move at an unrelenting pace. But take heart, your longing for strength is not a sign of weakness; it is an invitation from the Lord to draw near to Him, for He is the source of all endurance and hope.

Scripture reminds us in Isaiah 40:31, "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." Motivation is not something we muster on our own, it is a gift that flows from abiding in Christ. When we fix our eyes on Him, He renews our purpose and revives our weary hearts.

We also want to gently encourage you to examine what may be draining your motivation. Are there distractions, sinful patterns, or unconfessed burdens weighing you down? Hebrews 12:1 urges us, "Let’s also lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with perseverance the race that is set before us." Sometimes, what we call a lack of motivation is actually the Holy Spirit convicting us to realign our priorities with God’s will.

Let us pray for you now:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is feeling the weight of weariness. Lord, You see their heart and know the battles they face. We ask that You would pour out Your strength upon them, lifting the heaviness that has settled in their spirit. Renew their mind with Your truth, reminding them that their worth is found in You alone. Help them to cast every care upon You, for You care deeply for them (1 Peter 5:7). Father, reveal any areas where sin or distraction has crept in, and grant them the courage to lay those down at Your feet. Fill them with fresh vision and passion for the purposes You have called them to. May they taste and see that You are good, and may their motivation be rooted in Your love and faithfulness. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, who gives us the victory. Amen."

Remember, dear one, that even Jesus grew weary in His earthly ministry, yet He pressed on for the joy set before Him (Hebrews 12:2). You are not alone in this. The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11). Keep seeking Him, keep surrendering, and trust that He will sustain you. We are praying for you, and we believe God is at work even now.

We know that feeling when the drive just seems to drain away, and everything feels heavier than it should. You are not alone in this, and we are glad you reached out.

Sometimes when motivation fades, it helps to remember that growth and forward movement are rarely a straight line. Spiritual fruit isn't handed to us all at once, it grows, often slowly and cyclically, with seasons that feel more like looping back than leaping ahead. A dry spell doesn't mean you have lost ground; it may simply be part of a deeper rhythm God uses to root something steady in you.

There is a small, practical step that can take the pressure off. When motivation dips, we can put aside the pressure to feel driven and simply name where we actually are right now. A counseling framework we have found helpful describes the stage where a person sees the need for change but hasn't yet committed to action as "contemplation." Sometimes just recognizing that you are in the weighing-it-out phase, not stuck, just weighing, removes the shame and lets you take one honest next breath. From there, a tiny, doable action like showing up somewhere welcoming (a small group, a worship gathering, or just a walk with a trusted friend) can quietly reconnect you to purpose and community.

Lord Jesus, you know what drains and what restores this person you love. Lift the heaviness, meet them gently in the waiting, and give them the courage to take just the next small step. Restore their sense of direction, not through striving but through your quiet presence with them this week. In your name.

Father, please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, financial needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen
"May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace." Numbers 6:24-26

The difficulty you feel is known to many of the Lord’s people, and it is a sweet mercy that you have not lost the desire to be motivated, for that very longing is a work of grace within you. Weariness is no stranger to the saints; even the most diligent servants grow faint at seasons, and it is no sin to feel the weight, so long as we do not cast away our confidence. But see that your motivation is not drawn from the shallow wells of your own fickle heart, nor from the changing tides of circumstance. Look away from self to the unfathomable faithfulness of God.

He who began a good work in you will most certainly perform it until the day of Jesus Christ; this is no cold dogma, but a living cordial for drooping spirits. The righteous shall hold on his way, not because their grip is strong, but because they are held by a hand that never fails. Let this precious truth of final perseverance be no pillow for carnal ease, but a sharp spur to holy diligence. Because you are kept by the power of God through faith, press forward with renewed energy, cleansing yourself from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Wait upon the Lord in prayer and meditation, and you shall renew your strength; you shall mount up with wings as eagles, run and not be weary, walk and not faint. Your faintness today shall be swallowed up in His might. Cast yourself upon Him, and you shall find motive enough in the depths of His immutable love.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You say you find it difficult to stay motivated. This is a common struggle, but do not let it master you. The Apostle Paul himself often purposed to come to the Romans but was hindered, yet he did not lose heart; he pressed on, and his very obstacles became an occasion for greater diligence. So too you must treat this weariness as a call to importunate prayer, not to idleness. Approach God at all times, not only in the morning or evening. Remember the widow who by her persistence won justice from the unjust judge, and the Syrophoenician woman who by her constancy drew forth the Lord’s compassion even after He seemed to refuse her. Unworthy as you may feel, perseverance makes us worthy to receive.

Do not measure your motivation only by fleeting feelings. The time for striving is now, while the contest lasts. The rich man wept after death, but his tears availed nothing because he had wasted the day of labor. You are still in the arena; pick up your lamp and your mattock, as the prisoner in the mine works in darkness, drop by drop supplying the oil. Even a little ordinary diligence shown now will yield the greatest rewards. Let love for one another and the desire for the Spirit’s gifts be the oil that feeds your flame. Covet earnestly the Gift, and all else will become easy without toils.

But above all, pray, pray without ceasing, with all perseverance, not limiting your requests to a set hour. I join my prayers to yours, that the Lord will quicken your zeal and make your labor fruitful.
