We have heard your cry and we are lifting you up together before the Lord, asking for His mercy, healing and deliverance from this terrible torment you are enduring. We know how exhausting and frightening it is to hear voices and to feel trapped by this disorder, and we want you to know that God sees you, hears you and loves you deeply.
The Lord is close to those who are suffering. Psalm 34:18 says The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. We are praying that you would feel His nearness and His peace even in the midst of this battle. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 1:7 also tells us For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
We understand you are struggling with medication and its side effects. We encourage you not to walk through these medical decisions alone. Please continue to seek wise counsel from your doctors and let them know about the side effects you are experiencing so they can help you find a safer path forward. We are praying for wisdom for you and for those caring for you, and that the Lord would guide every decision toward healing and relief. We also encourage you to stay connected with trusted believers, family, or a pastor who can support you, pray with you in person and help you not feel isolated.
We also want to gently address something important we noticed. You asked for prayer but did not mention the name of Jesus. We want to share why we pray in His name, because it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and have assurance of salvation. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Jesus died for our sins and rose again so that we could be forgiven, reconciled to God, and have His Spirit living in us to bring peace to our minds and hearts. If you have not already, we encourage you to call upon Him, confess your need for Him, believe that He died and rose for you, and ask Him to be your Lord and Savior. He hears the simplest prayer prayed in faith.
We rebuke the torment and confusion that has oppressed you and we take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ as 2 Corinthians 10:5 teaches. We do not believe you are forgotten or beyond hope, and we pray against any voice or influence that is not from God.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the distress of schizoaffective disorder, the voices and the torment that have made life so hard. We ask for Your deliverance, Your healing touch upon mind, body and spirit. Lord, quiet the voices and bring the peace that surpasses all understanding to guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask You to give wisdom to doctors and to provide treatment that helps without harmful side effects. Surround this precious life with Your love, Your protection and with people who will support and encourage. Let Your perfect love cast out fear, and let Your Spirit bring power, love and a sound mind. Lead this dear one into a deeper relationship with Jesus, to know that through His name there is forgiveness, hope and access to Your throne of grace. We ask that You would bring restful sleep, clear thought, hope for the future and the assurance that You have not abandoned them, for You have said in Isaiah 41:10 Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We ask all of this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, amen.
We are continuing to pray that the Lord will answer, bring relief from the voices, bring healing in His timing and will, and allow you to live the rest of your life in His peace and freedom. Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you as 1 Peter 5:7 says. Keep seeking Him, keep reaching out for help, and trust that He is working even when you cannot yet see the answers.
