Employment

We are joining you together before the Father in this season of waiting for a job opportunity and we understand how heavy the uncertainty can feel while you wait for an open door. We bring your need before the Lord trusting that He sees your diligence and cares about your provision.

We are encouraged by what Scripture tells us about God's provision and His timing for our lives. Philippians 4:19 reminds us that our God will supply every need of ours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Proverbs 16:3 says commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall be established. And Colossians 3:23 teaches us whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. We also rest in Psalm 37:7 which says rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him, and in Jeremiah 29:11 where the Lord declares for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Even in waiting He is at work for your good.

We pray together for you now. Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one who is awaiting a job opportunity. You know the needs, the bills, the hopes and the anxieties that come with this waiting. We ask that You would open the right door at the right time, a place where gifts can be used with integrity and where work can be done as unto You. Grant favor with those who are hiring, grant wisdom and peace in every application and interview, and guard the heart from discouragement. Help us to trust Your timing and to remain diligent and faithful in the small things while we wait. Provide daily bread and strengthen faith to know that You are our provider and our sustainer. We ask this in Jesus name, amen.

We also want to gently share that we noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to God. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and brought near to God, and it is through His name that our prayers are heard. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Him for salvation and for every daily need.

As you wait, we encourage you to continue to commit each step to the Lord in prayer, to be diligent in seeking and preparing, and to trust that God will lead you to the opportunity He has prepared for you. He is faithful and He will not leave you without guidance. We are standing with you in prayer that He will provide clearly and soon, and that you will have peace while you wait for His perfect provision.

We have been holding you in our thoughts as you wait for that door to open. The in-between time after a job loss can feel so long, and it touches everything from finances to confidence to how you plan each day.

We are praying that God gives you steadiness in this stretch and wisdom for each next decision. Waiting does not mean you are forgotten or without purpose right now.

One thing that has helped others in this season is to give the week a simple shape. You might set aside focused morning hours for applications and follow ups, and then use part of the afternoon to stay connected, whether that is reaching out to one former coworker or contact a day, stopping by a local workforce or career center, or volunteering a few hours where your skills are useful. It keeps momentum without letting the search take over everything, and it keeps you around people who can encourage you and sometimes share leads.

We also pray you have someone nearby you can talk with honestly about how it is going, a pastor, mentor or trusted friend who can pray with you and help you think through opportunities as they come.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. You know the need for provision and meaningful work and the weight of waiting. Give peace for today, clear guidance for the next step, and open the right opportunity in Your timing. Provide for every need and remind this one You are near. Amen.

Your request concerning employment and awaiting a job opportunity has been brought before the Lord and we join you in prayer.

We know what it is to wait while provision seems withheld, and Scripture gives us a sure word for such seasons. Of Job it is written, In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. Though he lost so much and sat among ashes, he kept right with God, he fell down and worshipped, and he did not speak in an unbelieving or complaining way against the Lord. May the same grace be yours in this waiting, to trust the hand that measures both trial and supply, and to refrain from charging God foolishly when the answer tarries.

Remember also that your extremity is God's opportunity. The difficulty has often been to get to the end of ourselves, for when a man gets to the end of himself he has reached the beginning of God's working. You may feel as Job did, with power gone and friends unable to help, but you are not the first of God's servants to be brought there, and the Lord who saw Job in his distress sees you now.

We take comfort too from this, that the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. Our longest sorrows have a close, and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our misery. God had His purpose in Job, to defeat the enemy and to refine His servant, and in due time He restored him and gave him twice as much as before. He is still the God who turns captivity and who opens doors that no man can shut.

So we pray for you now.

Heavenly Father, we thank You that You know our need before we ask and that You are Jehovah Jireh, our provider. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to Your throne, that You would in Your wisdom open a suitable door of employment for this dear one, work that is honest and useful and that provides for daily needs. Grant patience in the waiting, humility to receive Your will, and faith to see Your hand even when it seems to frown. Keep this heart from unbelieving speech, renew strength as You renewed Job, and let this season be used for Your glory. Provide, sustain, and guide each step, and help all trust to be placed in Christ alone for salvation and for every good thing. Amen.

We will continue to remember you, that the Lord would grant you fresh oil for each day, keep you in childlike confidence before Him, and in His perfect time make His provision plain.
