Disciple of Prayer
Greetings in the wonderful name of our lord Jesus Christ. Please pray with me for a job, I have 2 kids with chronic illnesses. I have been sending my CV with no luck. My partner has been treating me bad since I was unemployed. I am depressed so much

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting you up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Your struggles with unemployment, the health of your children, and the strain in your home have not gone unnoticed by our Heavenly Father. He sees your tears, hears your prayers, and holds you in the palm of His hand. We stand with you, believing that God is your Provider, Healer, and Strength in this difficult season.

First, we must address the situation with your partner. The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect His love and faithfulness (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:31-33). If you are not married, we urge you to prayerfully consider whether this relationship aligns with God’s design. The mistreatment you are experiencing is not God’s will for you. Scripture commands husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25), and wives are called to respect their husbands (Ephesians 5:33). If this is not happening, it is a violation of God’s order. We rebuke any spirit of oppression, disrespect, or abuse in this relationship in the name of Jesus. You are a child of God, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and you deserve to be treated with dignity and love. If this relationship is not honoring to God, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and prayerfully consider what steps the Lord would have you take.

Now, let us lift up your need for employment. The Word of God assures us that He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We declare that the right job is on the way for you, one that will provide for your family and allow you to care for your children as they need. We rebuke every spirit of delay, rejection, and discouragement that has kept you from the opportunities God has prepared for you. The enemy may have meant this season for harm, but God will use it for your good (Genesis 50:20). We pray that doors of opportunity swing wide open for you, and that favor surrounds you like a shield (Psalm 5:12). May your skills, experience, and character shine before potential employers, and may they see the hand of God upon your life.

For your children, we pray healing and strength over their bodies. Jesus is the Great Physician, and He bore our sicknesses and carried our diseases (Isaiah 53:5, Matthew 8:17). We declare that by His stripes, your children are healed. We pray for wisdom for their doctors, peace for their minds, and comfort for their spirits. May the Lord give you the grace to care for them with patience and love, even in the midst of your own struggles.

Your depression is not a sign of weakness, but it is a battle that we take seriously. The enemy would love to steal your joy, kill your hope, and destroy your faith, but we stand against that spirit of heaviness in the name of Jesus. The Bible tells us that the joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10), and we pray that joy would flood your soul. Cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). We encourage you to surround yourself with godly community, people who will pray with you, encourage you, and remind you of God’s promises. Do not isolate yourself, for the enemy thrives in isolation, but God’s light shines brightest in fellowship.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister in her time of need. Lord, You see her heart, her struggles, and her desires. You know the weight she carries, and we ask that You would lift it from her shoulders. Father, we declare that You are her Provider, and we trust that You will open the right doors for employment. Remove every obstacle, every spirit of delay, and every lie that tells her she is not enough. Let her steps be ordered by You, and may she walk into the job You have prepared for her.

Lord, we pray for healing over her children. Touch their bodies with Your healing hand, and let them experience Your peace and comfort. Give our sister wisdom and strength to care for them, and surround them with Your angels. Father, we rebuke the spirit of depression and oppression in her life. Fill her with Your joy, Your peace, and Your hope. Remind her that she is not alone, for You are with her always.

We also lift up her relationship, Lord. If it is not in alignment with Your will, give her the courage to seek Your best for her life. If it is Your will for her to be married, we pray that You would bring a godly spouse into her life, one who will love her as Christ loves the church. If not, we pray for Your protection and provision over her and her children.

Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness. We thank You that You are working all things together for her good. Strengthen her faith, deepen her trust in You, and let her see Your hand at work in her life. We declare victory over her situation, for You have not given her a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We hear how heavy this all sits on you right now, the weight of your children’s illnesses, the exhaustion of sending out CV after CV with no response, and the deep hurt of being treated badly at home when you most need support. That kind of pressure would leave anyone feeling worn down and depressed. You are not weak for feeling this way; you are carrying an enormous load.

A practical step we want to gently encourage is speaking with a doctor about the depression. When you are already depleted, your body and mind can get stuck in a place that needs more than just pushing through. Talking with a professional can be a real lifeline, not instead of prayer, but alongside it, and it may give you some steadiness as you keep navigating the job search and caring for your children. It is not a sign of weak faith to seek that help.

As you keep searching for work, we also hope you will let a few trusted people around you know exactly what you need, whether it is a lead on an open position, a morning to drop off the kids so you can rest, or simply someone to listen without lecturing. You have been isolated and mistreated, and your dignity matters more than any paycheck. You are not what your partner’s harsh treatment says you are. You are a parent faithfully caring for two sick children while fighting to keep going, and that takes real strength.

Lord Jesus, you see this family, the sick children, the worn-down parent, the job doors that keep staying shut, and the cruelty coming from the one who should be a support. We ask you to break through. Open a door for good work soon. Bring peace and safety where there is mistreatment. Guard those children in your mercy, and lift the depression that has wrapped itself so tightly. Give this dear one just enough strength for today, and send people who will truly help. In your name we pray, Amen.

The trial you endure pierces the heart, yet it is not without purpose. The Lord has not turned His face from you, though the darkness presses in. Remember Job, who lost all, his estate, his children, his health, and whose wife turned against him, bidding him curse God and die. In all this, Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. You speak of depression, and that is no small grief. Job himself cried out with bitter wailing, and the Book of Job is given in part for those subject to such a spirit, that we might see a man acquainted with the deepest sorrows.

But mark this: Job’s captivity was turned when he prayed for his friends. He interceded for those who had spoken harshly against him, who had misjudged him in his misery. You have a partner who treats you ill because you are without work. That stings the soul. Yet I charge you, not in your own strength but by the grace of God, to pray for that one. Pray for your children, afflicted with chronic illness, that the Lord would ease their pain and draw them to Himself. It may be that in praying for those who have wronged you, your own deliverance will break like the dawn.

Do not let this hardship choke your prayers. Eliphaz falsely accused Job of restraining prayer before God, but the danger is real for any of us in the grip of despair. Cast your care upon Him who cares for you. Though He slay you, trust in Him. This is faith’s ultimatum, and it was Job’s glory when he said, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.” Your children are a sacred charge; your own soul is of infinite worth. The Lord can provide bread when all earthly hope is gone, and He can soften the hardest heart.

You fear the future, but Job found that even his mortal illness did not end as he supposed. He thought God would bring him swiftly to the grave, yet the Lord restored his latter days more than the former. Your body may fail, your friends may desert you, but if you cling to Christ, your glory shall yet be fresh in you. God does not deal with us according to our deservings, but according to His mercy. The plan of salvation stands firm: you must be born again. If you have laid hold of that, then in your poverty and pain you are richer than kings.

The Lord turned Job’s captivity. Your longest sorrow has a close. The bottom of the deepest depths has a floor, and you shall not sink lower than that. He who tells the sea, “Thus far and no farther,” measures your grief with a tender eye. Wait on Him in the childlike confidence that says, “We are wrong, God must be right.”

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
