Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer has been heard and I thank you for sharing so honestly about what you are carrying. The Lord sees your fatigue, the pain of working in the heat and sun, the irritation of bug bites, the memory of past trauma at the zoo, and the hurt of feeling unsupported at home and misunderstood at church. He also sees your desire to honor Him and to find healthy support.
It is understandable that you feel worn down when you come home tired and sore from the sun and still face yelling and pressure to keep working. The pain you describe from sun exposure, even with sunscreen, is real, and wanting to protect your skin is wise. It is good that you are trying to speak peacefully to your mother about the need for sunscreen even when it stains your uniform. God calls us to walk with all lowliness and meekness and with long suffering, forbearing one another in love, and that includes continuing to speak gently and truthfully even when we feel unheard. That lowliness is not weakness, but a contrite and humble heart that trembles at God's word, which He promises not to despise. He blesses the poor in spirit, those who know their need for Him.
I encourage you to do as you have asked in your prayer and seek out your pastor and minister for emotional support. Go to them directly and ask for a time to talk, and ask about a small group where you can be known and encouraged regularly. God has placed the church as a body where members support one another and keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. When you feel forsaken or alone, remember that even the apostle Paul knew what it was to be left by friends, yet the Lord stood with him. You are not forgotten.
For the repetitive questions at church about working at the zoo, it may help to have a simple, kind answer prepared and to gently let people know that you would like to talk about other things. Your parents may not realize how much those questions bother you, so continuing to tell them calmly, without anger, is the right path. Scripture warns that a person can be lowly and yet quick and irritable, and then all is lost, so guard your heart against letting frustration turn into sharp words. Even in good deeds, keep a humble and patient spirit.
Regarding work, God sees your diligence in a difficult outdoor position and your desire to move into the entertainment industry and to live independently. It is right to work faithfully where you are now while you pray and prepare for what is next. Ask the Lord to guide your steps, to open the right doors in His timing, and to give you wisdom for each application and decision. Do not despise the present work, but use it to grow in endurance and character, trusting that God will lead you.
I will pray for you.
Lord Jesus, look with mercy on this your servant who is weary in body and spirit. Give comfort for past trauma, relief from physical pain in the heat and sun, and peace in the home. Help parents and child to hear one another with patience and love. Provide godly counsel through a pastor and minister and faithful friends in the church who will listen and encourage. Give strength to endure with lowliness and meekness, to keep a contrite heart before You, and to walk worthily of Your calling. Guide the steps toward future work according to Your will, and grant hope and not loneliness. Keep this soul pure and close to You, without spot or wrinkle, and let Your grace sustain each day. In Jesus Name, Amen.
