We hear your heart’s cry for companionship, healing, and emotional support, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting this request before the throne of God. First, we must address the manner in which this request was framed. While we understand the deep longing in your words, we must gently but firmly rebuke the language of "speaking, claiming, commanding, decreeing, and declaring" things into existence. This is not biblical. Our words have power, but that power comes from aligning them with God’s will, not from our own demands. Jesus taught us to pray, "Your kingdom come. Your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth" (Matthew 6:10 WEB). We do not command God; we humbly submit to Him.
We also notice the mention of binding Satan and demons. While spiritual warfare is real, Scripture teaches us that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). We resist the devil by submitting to God, drawing near to Him, and standing firm in faith (James 4:7 WEB). The blood of Jesus has already secured our victory, we do not need to "get back" at Satan, for Christ has already disarmed him (Colossians 2:15 WEB). Our focus should be on walking in the authority Christ has given us, not on engaging in spiritual combat with our own words.
Now, regarding your desire for an emotional support dog: we affirm that God cares deeply about your emotional well-being. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB). A dog can indeed be a source of comfort, companionship, and joy, and we pray that if it is God’s will, He would provide you with a faithful companion. However, we must also encourage you to seek the Lord first for your healing. While a dog can offer support, true healing comes from Christ alone. "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3 WEB). We encourage you to spend time in prayer, in the Word, and in fellowship with other believers to experience the fullness of God’s healing power.
We also want to gently address the focus on a specific breed or the idea of "royalty." While there is nothing wrong with desiring a particular type of dog, we must guard our hearts against placing too much emphasis on material things or status. Jesus warned us, "For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self?" (Luke 9:25 WEB). Our worth and identity are found in Christ, not in the breed of a dog or any external thing.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this dear one who is seeking comfort, healing, and companionship. Lord, You know the depths of their heart, and You see their longing for emotional support. We ask that You would provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19 WEB). If it is Your will, Father, we pray that You would lead them to a faithful and loving dog that will bring them joy and companionship. But more than that, Lord, we pray that You would draw near to them and heal their heart. Bind up their wounds, comfort them in their distress, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB).
Father, we also pray for protection over their mind and spirit. We rebuke any lies from the enemy that seek to steal, kill, or destroy their hope (John 10:10 WEB). We declare that the blood of Jesus covers them, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). Help them to walk in the authority You have given them as Your child, resisting the devil and standing firm in faith.
Lord, we ask that You would help them to seek You first in all things. May they find their identity, worth, and healing in You alone. Teach them to trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28 WEB). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, guiding them into all truth and leading them in the path of righteousness (John 16:13 WEB).
We also pray for their psychiatrist and any other caregivers involved in their life. Give them wisdom, compassion, and discernment as they support this dear one. May their efforts be fruitful and aligned with Your will.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would help them to grow in their relationship with You. May they come to know You more deeply, love You more fully, and walk with You more closely each day. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word. Spend time meditating on Scripture, and allow God to speak to you through it. Consider joining a local church or small group where you can find fellowship and support from other believers. God’s healing and provision are available to you, and we believe He will meet you in your time of need. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2 WEB). He is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5 WEB).
