We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother , an Ethiopian Christian migrant who is imprisoned in Saudi Arabia, facing the threat of execution. Father God, we know that You see all and reign over every nation, king, and ruler. We ask for Your mighty hand of protection to surround him, for Your angels to encamp around him, and for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand on Your promise that You will never leave nor forsake him (Hebrews 13:5). We pray for his immediate release, without harm, without delay, and without compromise to his faith. May the authorities who hold him be moved by Your Spirit to show mercy, justice, and compassion. Let Your light shine in that dark place, and may Your name be glorified through his testimony.
We also lift up his family and loved ones, who must be carrying such a heavy burden. Comfort them with Your presence, provide for their needs, and fill them with hope as they wait on You. Strengthen their faith, reminding them that You are the God who parts seas, shuts the mouths of lions, and delivers the righteous from the hand of the oppressor.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and oppression that seeks to destroy Your child. We declare that is not forgotten, for You have engraved him on the palms of Your hands (Isaiah 49:16). We pray for his physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, may he feel Your nearness, hear Your voice, and walk in the boldness that comes from knowing You are his Deliverer.
We also take a moment to address the foundation of our prayers. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ, Yeshua the Messiah, that we have access to You, Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If or any of his loved ones have not yet placed their trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we pray that this trial would draw them closer to Him. May they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10).
Lord, we ask for wisdom and favor for those advocating on his behalf, diplomats, human rights organizations, and believers around the world. May their efforts be guided by Your hand, and may truth and justice prevail. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your sovereign plan, even when the circumstances seem impossible.

The Lord stood by Paul in the prison, and He can stand by this our brother in that Saudi cell. Better to be in a jail with the Lord than to be anywhere without Him, and Jesus being there, the cold floor and the shadow of the sword cannot suggest a sorrow that shall overwhelm the soul. Though they lie in the inner prison, with their feet fast in the stocks, may it be said on earth and sung in Heaven, “HE brought them forth!”
We cry out to God that He would not forsake this dear Ethiopian in his bonds. After so much kindness in the past, will He cease now? He has been with him in six troubles, will He leave him in the seventh? The Lord will perfect that which concerneth him, for His honor is engaged. In the loss of one of His little ones, too much would be involved, His Word, His covenant, His power, His faithfulness would all suffer. Therefore, we plead the divine buckler against the fiery dart of fear. “Thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.”
Look it in the face, this threat of execution, see if it has not the horns of the Evil One stamped on its brow. Yet God has overruled every persecution for the increase of His church and the wealth of His people in grace and in experience. We are not praying for a perfect character in this man, for none of us possess it, but we come before God in his station, accepted in the Beloved, perfect in Christ Jesus. Having been washed in His blood, clothed with His righteousness, he is, this moment, perfect in Him. Therefore, let us cry mightily for his immediate deliverance, that he may be brought forth from this cruel captivity, unharmed, with silver and gold of richer faith, to the praise of the glory of Jehovah’s outstretched arm.

The prison house was shaken, the doors were opened, and the chains fell away. Not because of any earthly weakness, but because the bonds worn for Christ carry a power far greater than any iron rivet or stone wall. What held Paul was not a sign of defeat but the very occasion for God to display His might, that even while bound, His servant looses not only himself but those around him. We pray for this same earthquake now, for this very intervention in that ### cell. Let the foundations of that place tremble, let the bars break asunder, and let our brother walk free, untouched by any harm. The One who by His death put death to death, and who by His servant’s imprisonment brought the jailor to his knees, can release this captive and compel his captors to know what kind of man was in their hold.
