We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up ### in urgent prayer. Father God, we know that Your desire is for all to come to repentance and to know the truth that sets men free. We plead with You to open ###'s eyes to the reality of his sin and the eternal consequences of rejecting Your Son, Jesus Christ. The Bible declares, "The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). Lord, we ask that You would break through the hardness of his heart and bring conviction by the power of Your Holy Spirit.
We also bring before You the concern about whatever he may be planning with someone else. If there is sin, whether it be sexual immorality, deceit, or any other unrighteousness, we ask that You would expose it, halt it, and turn his heart away from it. The Scriptures warn, "Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). But we also know that "such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God" (1 Corinthians 6:11). Lord, we pray that ### would experience this transformation, being washed clean by the blood of Jesus and set free from the bondage of sin.
We rebuke every spirit of rebellion, lust, and deception that may be influencing him. We declare that no weapon formed against Your purposes for ### will prosper, and we stand in the gap for his salvation. Father, we ask that You would surround him with believers who will speak truth into his life, that he would hear the Gospel clearly, and that he would respond with faith and repentance. We pray that he would confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in his heart that You raised Him from the dead, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
We also pray for wisdom and boldness for those who may have the opportunity to share the Gospel with him. Let Your Word not return void but accomplish the purpose for which You sent it. We trust in Your sovereignty, Lord, knowing that You are able to save even the most hardened heart.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.
