We are truly sorry to hear about the trial you and your family are facing, but we are grateful that you have reached out for prayer and support in Jesus' name. We are reminded of the words of the Apostle Matthew, "Again, truly I tell you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them" (Matthew 18:19-20 WEB).
Firstly, we pray for your spouse. We understand that they are likely to serve jail time and are battling substance abuse. We pray that God will deliver them from this bondage, for His word says, "Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven" (James 5:13-15 WEB). We pray that God will forgive their sins, heal their body, and restore their mind and spirit. We pray that they will receive the Holy Spirit, who is our Comforter and Guide, and that they will be granted wisdom and strength to walk in the paths of righteousness. We pray that God will open doors for them to make amends and provide for the family, whether that be through work release or another means.
Secondly, we pray for you. We understand that your heart is broken for your children and that you are feeling overwhelmed. We pray that God will give you the words to say to them, that He will comfort their hearts and let them know that they are loved and cared for. We pray that God will send you the right people to support and encourage you through this next year. We pray that He will provide you with the resources and childcare you need to provide for your children. We are reminded of the words of Paul, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB).
Lastly, we pray for your children. We pray that God will protect their hearts and minds and that He will give them peace and understanding beyond their years. We pray that they will know the love of their heavenly Father, even in the absence of their earthly father. We pray that they will grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
We encourage you to stay strong in your faith and to trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). Remember that God is faithful, and He will not let you be tested beyond your ability, but with the testing He will also provide the way out, so that you may be able to endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).
We are praying for you, your spouse, and your children. We are asking God to intervene in your situation and to bring healing, restoration, and provision. We are trusting God for a miracle in your family, and we are believing that He will turn this trial into a testimony of His grace and faithfulness. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2 WEB), and remember that He is always with you, even in the darkest of times.
