Elohim

We hear your cry to the Lord, invoking His sacred name, Elohim, the mighty Creator and sovereign God. We stand with you in seeking His presence, wisdom, and intervention in your life. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, that we have access to the Father, for Scripture declares, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me" (John 14:6). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive Him as your Lord and Savior. This is the foundation of true life in God.

Now, let us lift your request to the throne of grace together. Heavenly Father, Elohim, we come before You in reverence and awe, acknowledging Your power, Your holiness, and Your unfailing love. You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who acts on behalf of Your children. We ask that You move mightily in ###'s life, bringing clarity where there is confusion, peace where there is turmoil, and hope where there is despair. Lord, we declare Your sovereignty over every area of ###'s life, spirit, soul, and body. Strengthen their faith, deepen their trust in You, and let Your presence be their comfort and guide.

Father, if there are areas in ###'s life that do not align with Your Word, we ask that You reveal them with Your holy light. Convict gently but firmly, leading to repentance and transformation. If there are struggles with sin, whether it be unforgiveness, bitterness, lust, pride, or any other stronghold, we rebuke those chains in the name of Jesus. We declare freedom and restoration, for "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). If ### is walking in disobedience, we pray they would turn back to You with a repentant heart, knowing that "the Lord is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, and of great loving kindness" (Psalm 145:8).

Lord, if this request involves relationships, we pray specifically for godly wisdom and discernment. If ### is seeking a spouse, we ask that You prepare them to be the husband or wife You have called them to be, and that You bring a believer who loves You first and foremost. Let their courtship be pure, honoring to You, and rooted in Your Word. We rebuke any temptation toward sexual immorality, for "let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4). If ### is in a relationship that does not honor You, whether through premarital intimacy, ungodly partnerships, or same-sex unions, we pray for conviction and courage to walk away, trusting You to provide what is best.

Father, we also lift up any struggles with identity, purpose, or direction. Remind ### that they are fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image (Psalm 139:14), and that Your plans for them are for good and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11). If there is fear, anxiety, or doubt, we declare that "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). Fill ### with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We stand in agreement with ###, believing that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). May Your will be done in ###'s life, and may Your name be glorified in every circumstance. We thank You for hearing our prayer, and we trust in Your perfect timing and provision.

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We are holding this person up with you in prayer, trusting them into the hands of the One who gave them life. When we call on Elohim, the mighty Creator and covenant-keeping God, we are asking Him to take full ownership of everything that concerns them, to guide, guard, and shepherd them according to His perfect will. You have placed them before the throne simply and earnestly, and that matters more than you may realize.

In our own experience, we have seen that loved ones often need more than our words of advice; they need someone to faithfully carry them to the Lord in prayer, especially when they cannot or will not pray for themselves. Keep bringing this dear one before God, not with anxiety, but with the quiet confidence that He hears. As you do, remember that the same God who numbers the stars also knows every detail of their situation, and His timing and methods are always good.

We also want to encourage you not to carry this burden alone. If you have a trusted friend or a prayer partner from your church, consider asking them to join you in lifting this need regularly. Being able to share the weight and hear someone else say “we are praying with you” often brings a steadiness that is hard to find any other way.

Let’s pray together now:
Lord God, we bring this precious life to You. You are Elohim, strong and faithful, the One who forms and redeems. We ask You to take hold of them, spirit, soul, and body, and draw them into Your safe keeping. Give them clarity where there is confusion, healing where there is hurt, and a deep awareness of Your presence. Protect them and direct their steps. And for this one who prays, we ask for peace and perseverance. Let them taste the joy of seeing You move. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The cry “Elohim, take this life” is a terrible prayer, though it may well spring from a heart drowned in sorrow. To summon the Almighty as if He were a servant at our bidding, to dictate the hour of death for another, is to forget that the keys of death and hell hang at Christ’s girdle alone. He who creates displays his own perfections; life and its length are not ours to command but His to ordain. Could any but a divine motive actuate the Divine Architect? We must learn to trace every difference in the length of days to God’s sovereignty and bow there, not bark out orders like a rebel.

Yet I do not mistake the agony that may prompt such words. When waves of trouble roll over the soul, the flesh cries for an end. But the answer to suffering is not to seize the divine prerogative, it is to trust. He bids you trust his Son Jesus; will you do so or not? If you will, you are saved the moment that you believe. Trust your merciful God to help you. What is the trial that makes a life seem so hateful? Rely upon your merciful God to bear you through. Divine interpositions come in the way of deliverance from floods of trouble; often He delivers when we expect only to be swallowed up.

The life you would have taken may yet become, by grace, a dry tree that flourishes. God’s ways accomplish those things we looked not for, keeping our path from monotony and despair. Submit, therefore, to his method of operating. Bowing with submission to the will of God, by that very fact you are furnished with unerring guidance. Cry to Elohim, but cry for faith to trust, for grace to wait, for the Spirit’s sweet surrender. He who can trust Jesus with a million souls can surely trust the Father with this one life. That is the end of rebellion, the establishment of peace.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You bring a request for the life of a certain one, crying out to God, “Elohim, take this life into Your keeping.” That is a good and holy cry, for He alone is the Giver of life and breath and all things, and without Him we can do nothing. Yet consider: prayer is a great weapon, but if we ourselves are asleep while asking others to watch, what profit is it? If you would see the hand of God upon this soul, see to it that your own life is awake. Do not think you have no need of prayer for yourself, even as you plead for another.

We always have need, for the market-place of each day is a tempest, and the rocks are many. If you first make God propitious by your own earnest supplication and a watchful life, then going forth you shall have no enemy, or if one comes, you will laugh him to scorn. But if you are careless, relying only on the utterance of a name while your heart sleeps, the help of others will profit nothing. Therefore, let the one for whom you pray also, if able, rouse himself and seek the Lord with his whole mind.

Do not merely ask for a miracle of preservation, for that is a small thing; a life of virtue is greater. God is not worshipped by hands, as though He needed anything, but by the understanding and a pure heart. And when you pray, do not approach as though commanding the Creator, but with thanksgiving, for He hears those who are truly His. Do these things, and trust the life you love to Him who sustains all things.

Your cry reaches the heart of the matter: you are asking God to take your life. That is exactly where new life begins. The old life, the one governed by the flesh with its empty cycles and its dead end, must be surrendered. You are right to bring this before the Lord, because only He can exchange that life of shadows for the real thing.

There are two ways to live. One is after the flesh, where every thought is anchored to present cravings, every step guided by what the body demands. That life feels like a pursuit, but it always runs out into frustration and meaninglessness. Solomon tried every pleasure and project under the sun and called it vanity, a grasping after wind. If you have tasted that emptiness, you are not alone. The other way is life in the Son, life after the Spirit. God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life. That is the record.

When you were united with Christ, your old life ended. The person you were, dominated by sin, was buried with Him. Now you are alive to God, a new creation with a spirit that can commune with its Maker. But you must choose which master sits on the throne of your heart each day. The flesh still flares up with old passions, bitterness, fear, and self-will. Those are echoes of a dead man. You have the authority to reckon those things dead indeed, and to yield your members as instruments of righteousness. The power to live a holy, pure, and purposeful life comes from the Spirit dwelling in you.

Do not fear what surrender looks like. Many hold back because they think God will cripple them, but He wants to bless you. He is not a thief come to steal; He is the Father waiting at the house with a robe and a ring for the returning child. The prodigal finally interpreted life rightly: his father’s house held all he needed. Whatever you are clinging to that keeps you from full abandon, lay it down. Go out and surrender to the Lord, and your life will be preserved. The way of the flesh ends in death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Let that be your prayer: Lord, here is my life. Here are my circumstances, my failures, my hopes. I give it all to You. I leave it there. I will not scheme to pick it back up. Take my life, and let it be hidden in Your Son. As you do, you will find the third dimension of living, the spiritual plane where righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit become your daily experience. The cup that once felt cracked and dry will overflow. May you know the full purpose of His blessing as you submit everything to Him.
