Beloved of All
I’ve learned that depending on the Lord and walking with him daily must be a priority. There is the unknown/uncertainty. Why is it so difficult to really cast our burdens on the Lord and stay focused on HIM rather than our problems? I would like to fully trust the Lord but it’s hard, I guess. I’m scared because I don’t know what he has planned for me. I pray that he will open doors and opportunity for me. Also, how do I find trustworthy people? Like pastors and such as I need godly advice.

We hear your heart, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we join you in seeking the Lord’s wisdom and peace as you navigate these struggles. It is a beautiful thing that you recognize the need to depend on the Lord daily, for He alone is our firm foundation. Yet, we understand how the weight of uncertainty can press heavily upon us, making it difficult to fully release our burdens to Him. The truth is, this struggle is not unique to you—it is part of the human experience, and even the most faithful servants of God have wrestled with doubt and fear. But let us remind you of what Scripture says:

"Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved." (Psalm 55:22 WEB)

"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30 WEB)

The difficulty in casting our burdens upon the Lord often stems from a misplaced sense of control. We cling to our problems because, in some way, we believe that holding onto them gives us a sense of security or the illusion that we can fix them ourselves. But the Lord calls us to surrender—not because He wants to take away our agency, but because He wants to free us from the weight of carrying what we were never meant to bear alone. Trusting Him requires us to lay down our need to understand or predict the future and instead rest in the knowledge that He is good, sovereign, and working all things for our good (Romans 8:28).

Your fear of the unknown is understandable, but let us gently rebuke that fear with the truth of God’s Word. The Lord does not ask us to trust Him blindly; He has given us His promises, His character, and the testimony of countless believers who have walked this path before us. He has plans for you—plans for welfare, not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Even when we cannot see the path ahead, we can trust that His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). Instead of asking, "What does God have planned for me?" try asking, "Lord, how can I trust You more today?" Trust is not built in the absence of fear but in the decision to obey despite it.

As for your prayer for open doors and opportunities, we encourage you to seek the Lord’s will above all else. Too often, we pray for opportunities without first asking if those opportunities align with His purpose for our lives. Instead, pray as Jesus taught us: "Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10 WEB). When we surrender our desires to His will, we can trust that He will open the right doors at the right time. Remember, the Lord is not obligated to fulfill our plans, but He is faithful to fulfill His own.

Now, regarding your question about finding trustworthy people, particularly pastors and godly counselors, we offer this guidance: Seek those who are grounded in Scripture and whose lives reflect the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). A trustworthy pastor or mentor will point you to Christ, not to themselves, and their counsel will align with God’s Word. Do not be afraid to ask questions about their beliefs, their walk with the Lord, and their approach to ministry. Observe their character over time—do they exhibit humility, integrity, and a love for God’s people? The Lord often places godly mentors in our lives when we earnestly seek Him, so pray for discernment and wisdom as you seek counsel.

Let us also remind you that the body of Christ is designed to support and encourage one another. If you are not already connected to a local church, we strongly encourage you to find one where the Word of God is preached faithfully, and the love of Christ is lived out. Fellowship with other believers is vital for spiritual growth and accountability. As it is written, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:24-25 WEB).

We must also address a concern in your request: you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through faith in Him that we can approach God with confidence. If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your life fully to Jesus, acknowledging Him as Lord and Savior. Confess your sins, repent, and receive the gift of salvation that He freely offers. Without this foundation, our prayers and efforts are in vain. If you have already done this, we praise God for your salvation and encourage you to continue growing in your relationship with Him.

Let us now lift you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the heart of this dear brother or sister, who longs to trust You more fully and walk in Your will. Lord, we ask that You would strengthen their faith and help them to cast every burden upon You, knowing that You care for them. Remove the fear of the unknown and replace it with a deep, abiding trust in Your goodness and sovereignty. Teach them to seek Your will above all else, and open the doors that You have prepared for them in Your perfect timing.

Father, we pray for discernment as they seek godly counsel and fellowship. Surround them with trustworthy believers who will point them to You, encourage them in their walk, and hold them accountable. Lead them to a local church where Your Word is preached faithfully and Your love is lived out. Protect them from those who would lead them astray and give them wisdom to recognize true servants of Christ.

Lord, we also ask that You would deepen their relationship with You. Help them to abide in Your Word, to pray without ceasing, and to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. May they find their identity and security in You alone, and may their life bring glory to Your name. We rebuke every spirit of fear, doubt, and unbelief in the name of Jesus, and we declare that this child of God will walk in victory, trusting You in every circumstance.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Continue to press into the Lord, dear one. He is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He is working all things together for your good. You are not alone in this journey—we are praying for you, and the Lord is with you every step of the way.

We're right there with you, walking this path of uncertainty together. It's tough, isn't it? The unknown can be scary, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed when we don't know what lies ahead. But remember, we serve a God who specializes in the impossible, the unseen, the unknown. He's not asking us to trust Him blindly, but to trust Him because He's proven Himself faithful time and time again.

Let's try something today. Instead of asking, "What does God have planned for me?" let's ask, "Lord, how can I trust You more today?" Trust isn't about knowing the future; it's about choosing to obey despite the uncertainty. It's about taking that next step, even when we can't see the whole path.

And you know what? God's got this. He's got you. He's got your future. He's got your burdens. He's got your fears. He's got your dreams. He's got your everything. So, let's cast our cares on Him, because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). Let's rest in His love, His goodness, His sovereignty.

We're praying for you, friend. We're praying that God would give you peace in the midst of uncertainty, that He would open the right doors at the right time, and that you would find trustworthy people to walk alongside you. We're praying that you would grow in your trust of Him, that you would abide in Him, and that you would find your security in Him alone.

Keep looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He's got this. And you're not alone. We're in this together. Let's trust Him, one step at a time.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
