Waiting for that next appointment can feel overwhelming, especially when so much of your heart is invested in the little one you have longed for and prayed over. The days between now and then may seem heavy, and every thought can swing between hope and fear. But remember that the same God who opened your womb and created this child is already present in that unseen place, knitting together a life for His purposes. Nothing about this pregnancy is hidden from Him, not the timing, not the measurements, not the silent moments that cause anxiety. He hears you when you cry out, and He knows the deep desire for this child to be safe, protected, and alive.

Think of the women in Scripture who poured out their souls before the Lord for a child. One of them prayed so fervently in the temple that her lips moved without sound, and she promised to give the child back to God if He granted her petition. Her waiting had stretched on for years, yet she kept bringing her request before the Lord. God did not forget her. He answered in His time, and the child she received became a voice for the Almighty. Your persistence in prayer is not in vain. Even now, you can entrust this child into the hands of the One who forms every inward part and knows every day ordained for this little life before any of them come to be.

When Mary carried Jesus, there was mystery and confusion. She treasured things in her heart that she did not fully understand, and she walked in obedience without knowing how every detail would unfold. She journeyed late in her pregnancy, endured discomfort, and gave birth in circumstances far from what she might have planned. Yet the child was exactly where prophecy said He must be, and God had moved the heart of a ruler to accomplish His will. Your own journey with this IVF miracle has already shown signs of His involvement. He is the one who gives life, and He is the one who sustains it. No medical condition, no uncertain scan, escapes His notice. He can bring clarity where there is obscurity, and He can quicken life where it seems hidden.

Jesus is our great High Priest, the one who enters into our weaknesses and intercedes for us. He does not stand far off; He sympathizes with the anxious, the weary, the hopeful. You can hold fast to your confidence in Him now. You do not need to polish your prayers or find the perfect words. Cry out from your heart. Tell Him you are afraid. Tell Him you are holding on to His promises. And then, like that king long ago who fasted and lay upon the ground while his child was sick but rose in peace when the appointed time came, place your hope in God’s tender mercy. He is the same when the ultrasound brings relief and when it brings more questions.

That child you carry is already destined for something greater than you can see. Whether the heartbeat is visible now or only later, the Lord’s purposes for this little one are not shaken. He delights in receiving children, drawing them close, and using the small and the hidden to display His glory. So pray boldly. Ask Him to guard and quicken this baby. Pray for the next scan to show growth and life. But as you pray, rest also in the truth that your child belongs to Him, and He is worthy of your trust in every outcome. You have given this child to God in your longing and in your love; now watch for what He will do with that surrender.
