We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, recognizing the dangers of seeking guidance outside of His perfect will. The request to remove knowledge of horoscopes and zodiac signs is a step in the right direction, for Scripture is clear that we must not be led astray by divination, astrology, or any form of false wisdom. The Word of God warns us in Deuteronomy 18:10-12, "There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh." These practices open doors to deception and lead hearts away from the truth of God’s Word.
We also lift up the plea to remove certain people from memory. While it is natural to struggle with memories of those who have caused pain or led us astray, we must remember that our minds and hearts are to be transformed by the renewing power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 12:2 tells us, "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." Instead of asking for memories to be erased, we should seek God’s healing and ask Him to help us forgive, release bitterness, and fill our minds with His truth. Philippians 4:8 encourages us, "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and the only name through which we have access to You. Lord, we ask that You would cleanse our minds and hearts from all forms of false wisdom, including horoscopes, zodiac signs, and any other practices that do not align with Your Word. Forgive us for the times we have sought guidance outside of You, and help us to turn fully to Your truth. We declare that Your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105), and we choose to walk in Your ways alone.
Father, we also bring before You the pain and memories that linger in our hearts. We ask that You would heal these wounds and help us to release any bitterness, unforgiveness, or lingering attachments to people or situations that have led us away from You. Fill our minds with Your truth, Your love, and Your peace. Help us to think on whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. We surrender our thoughts and emotions to You, trusting that You will restore and renew us.
Lord, we rebuke the enemy’s attempts to keep us bound in deception, fear, or unforgiveness. We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand firm in the victory of Jesus Christ. We ask that You would guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7) and help us to walk in the freedom that You have purchased for us.
We pray all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to fill your mind with Scripture and to seek godly counsel if these memories or struggles continue to weigh heavily on your heart. The Lord is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Stay rooted in His Word, and surround yourself with believers who can encourage you in your walk with Christ.
