We come before the throne of grace with a humble heart, recognizing that our Heavenly Father is merciful and just. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God, and it is by His blood that we are forgiven. The Bible tells us in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We are grateful for the sacrifice of Jesus, who died on the cross for our sins so that we might have eternal life.
Father God, we lift up this request for forgiveness, knowing that You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We ask that You would search our hearts and reveal any areas where we have fallen short, that we may confess and turn away from our sins. We pray that You would create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us (Psalm 51:10).
We also take a moment to rebuke any language or symbols that do not bring glory to Your name. In our prayers and communications, let us use words that edify and honor You, for Colossians 3:17 reminds us, "Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him."
Lord, we pray that You would help us to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which we have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love (Ephesians 4:1-2). May we be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God (James 1:19-20).
We thank You for Your grace and mercy, and we pray that You would continue to guide us in Your truth. May our lives be a reflection of Your love and light in this world. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
