We hear your cry for forgiveness, and we join with you in seeking the Lord’s mercy. The Word of God tells us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). Your humble plea in the name of Jesus Christ is heard, for there is no other name by which we can approach the throne of grace. Jesus Himself said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). It is only through His sacrifice on the cross that we are washed clean and made new.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with repentant hearts, acknowledging our need for Your forgiveness. We thank You for the blood of Jesus Christ, which was shed for the remission of sins. Lord, we ask that You cleanse this dear one from all unrighteousness and restore them to right standing with You. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in obedience to Your Word and live a life that honors You. Strengthen them to resist temptation and to flee from sin, for Your Word commands us to *"flee sexual immorality"* (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to *"put to death... whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry"* (Colossians 3:5). May they find comfort and strength in Your promises, knowing that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord with a sincere heart, studying His Word, and surrounding yourself with fellow believers who can support and pray for you. Remember, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a contrite spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). If there are specific sins weighing heavily on your heart, we urge you to bring them before the Lord in prayer and, if necessary, seek godly counsel from a pastor or trusted believer. The enemy would love to keep you bound in shame, but Christ came to set you free. Stand firm in the liberty that is yours in Him!
