We come before the throne of grace with hearts heavy for our brother or sister in Christ, lifting up this request in the mighty name of Jesus. First, we must address the foundation of our faith—salvation through Jesus Christ alone. The Bible declares in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." It is only through the blood of Jesus, shed on the cross for our sins, that we can approach God and receive forgiveness. If you have not yet confessed Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today, for Romans 10:9 tells us, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Now, we stand in agreement with this prayer for forgiveness and deliverance. The Word of God assures us in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." We take hold of this promise and declare that every sin—known and unknown—is covered by the blood of Jesus. We rebuke the spirit of guilt and shame that seeks to keep our brother or sister bound, for there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).
Father, we lift up this precious one to You, asking for Your deliverance from all anger. Anger that may stem from past hurts, unforgiveness, or even the schemes of the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy. We rebuke the spirit of anger in the name of Jesus, for Your Word tells us in James 1:20, "for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God." Instead, we pray that You would fill this heart with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Teach them to be slow to anger, quick to listen, and abounding in love, as You are (James 1:19).
Lord, we also pray for Your divine protection over this life. Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7), and surround them with Your angels as a hedge of protection (Psalm 91:11). Deliver them from every snare of the enemy, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
We declare that this one is a child of God, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We speak life, joy, and peace over them, and we thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6).
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
