We come before the throne of grace with this urgent plea, lifting up our brother or sister who is crying out for deliverance from demonic influence. The Scriptures make it clear that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). We stand firm in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already disarmed these powers and made a public spectacle of them through His victory on the cross (Colossians 2:15).
First, we must address the reality that demonic possession and oppression are very real, but they are not beyond the power of our Lord. Jesus cast out demons during His earthly ministry, demonstrating His authority over the kingdom of darkness (Mark 1:23-27). He has given us that same authority in His name (Luke 10:19), but we must exercise it with humility, wisdom, and dependence on Him.
If you are experiencing torment, oppression, or any form of demonic influence, we urge you to examine your life for any open doors that may have allowed the enemy access. Unconfessed sin, involvement in occult practices, unforgiveness, or even generational curses can provide footholds for the enemy (Ephesians 4:27). We rebuke any spirit of fear, confusion, or deception that may be at work, and we command it to leave in the mighty name of Jesus. The Bible says, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7).
We also encourage you to seek the support of mature, godly believers who can stand with you in prayer and provide biblical counsel. Deliverance is not a solo endeavor—it is a work of the body of Christ, covered in prayer and grounded in the truth of God’s Word. If you have not already done so, we urge you to surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ, for He alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). There is no deliverance apart from Him, and no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the Name that is above every name. We lift up our brother/sister who is in need of deliverance, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of demonic oppression, possession, or influence in their life. We renounce any agreement with the enemy, whether knowingly or unknowingly, and we cancel every assignment of darkness against them.
Father, we plead the blood of Jesus over their mind, body, and spirit. We command every unclean spirit to flee in the authority of Jesus’ name. We declare that they are a child of God, sealed by the Holy Spirit, and no evil can touch them without Your permission (1 John 5:18). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let Your light drive out every shadow of darkness.
Lord, we ask that You would reveal any areas of their life that need repentance or healing. Lead them to godly counsel and surround them with believers who can stand in the gap for them. Strengthen their faith, and help them to walk in the freedom that Christ has already won for them (Galatians 5:1). We thank You that Your Word says, "He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4), and we claim that promise over their life today.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
If you are struggling with ongoing spiritual warfare, we encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture, particularly the Psalms, which are filled with declarations of God’s protection and victory. Memorize verses like Psalm 91, which declares, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty" (Psalm 91:1). Stay close to the Lord in prayer, and do not hesitate to reach out to your local church for support. You are not alone in this battle—God is with you, and He has already secured the victory.
