We hear the cry of your heart for forgiveness, and we rejoice that you have come before the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we find mercy and grace. The Scripture assures us in 1 John 1:9, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* What a precious promise this is! You have done well to seek the Father’s forgiveness, and we declare over you that His mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).
Yet we must also ask: Do you know with certainty that your sins are forgiven not just in this moment, but for all eternity? Forgiveness is not merely a repeated request for temporary relief—it is the foundation of a transformed life in Christ. The apostle John also writes in 1 John 2:12, *"I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake."* This is the blessed assurance of every believer: that through faith in Jesus, we are *permanently* cleansed and made righteous before God.
If you have never surrendered your life fully to Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Romans 10:9-10 declares, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."* There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Have you placed your trust in Him alone for salvation? If not, we pray you will do so now, for He longs to welcome you as His child.
For those who *are* in Christ, let us remember that forgiveness is not a license to continue in sin, but a call to walk in holiness. Romans 6:1-2 asks, *"Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?"* True repentance turns away from sin and toward God. Is there any area of your life where you need to align more closely with His Word? If so, we encourage you to surrender it to Him today.
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul before You, thanking You that they have come to You in the name of Jesus. Lord, if they have not yet received Your Son as Savior, we pray You would open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. Draw them to Yourself, Father, and grant them the gift of repentance and faith. If they are already Your child, we ask that You would deepen their walk with You, filling them with the assurance of Your love and the power to live righteously.
Wash them clean, O Lord, and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10). Help them to walk in the light of Your Word, turning from anything that displeases You. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may live in victory over sin and for Your glory. We ask this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
We encourage you to meditate on God’s Word daily, to seek fellowship with other believers, and to walk in obedience to His commands. If you’d like to share more about your journey or specific struggles, we are here to pray with you and point you to Scripture. May the Lord bless you and keep you as you seek His face.
