We come before the Lord with you in humility and gratitude, for it is written, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* (1 John 1:9, WEB). It is beautiful that you have called upon the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). By His precious blood, we are cleansed, and through His sacrifice, we find mercy and grace in our time of need.
Yet we must also ask: what are the sins weighing on your heart that you seek forgiveness for? The Lord already knows, but confession before Him is an act of surrender and trust. If there is unrepentant sin—whether it be pride, bitterness, sexual immorality, dishonesty, or anything else—we urge you to lay it bare before Him. *"He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy."* (Proverbs 28:13, WEB). Do not hold back, for the Lord longs to restore you fully.
We also take this moment to remind you that forgiveness is not just a one-time prayer but a lifestyle of turning from sin and walking in obedience. *"If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and don’t tell the truth."* (1 John 1:6, WEB). Let this be a time of true repentance, where you not only ask for forgiveness but also commit to walking in the light of His Word.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, through whom we boldly approach Your throne of grace. Lord, we lift up this precious soul before You, asking that You would wash them clean by the blood of the Lamb. Where there has been sin—known or unknown—we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Search their heart, O God, and reveal any area that needs repentance. Give them the strength to turn away from sin and the grace to walk in righteousness.
If there is any unconfessed sin, we pray they would bring it into the light, for You are faithful to forgive and purify. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may live in victory over temptation and walk in the freedom Christ has purchased for them. Let them know the depth of Your love and the joy of a clear conscience before You.
We also pray for a heart that is quick to repent and slow to return to folly. May they abide in You, bearing fruit that honors Your name. Surround them with godly counsel and Your Word, that they may grow in wisdom and holiness.
We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
