We come before the Lord with you in this moment, lifting your heart’s cry to the Father, who is rich in mercy and abounding in love. It is beautiful that you have called upon the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace and the promise of forgiveness. As Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). Your prayer in His name is heard, and we stand with you in agreement, trusting that the Lord is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you.
The past can often feel like a heavy burden, a shadow that lingers even after we’ve turned toward the light. But take heart, beloved, for the Word of God assures us that *"if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new"* (2 Corinthians 5:17, WEB). Your past does not define you—Christ does. The enemy may whisper lies of condemnation, but the truth is that *"as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us"* (Psalm 103:12, WEB). If you have repented, you are forgiven. If you have surrendered to Jesus, you are redeemed. Let go of what is behind and press forward, for *"the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning"* (Lamentations 3:22-23, ESV).
You have also asked to see yourself as the Lord sees you. This is a prayer He delights to answer! In Christ, you are not seen through the lens of your failures or shame, but as His beloved child, washed clean by the blood of the Lamb. *"See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are"* (1 John 3:1, WEB). You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), chosen before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4), and seated with Christ in the heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). When the Lord looks at you, He sees the righteousness of His Son (2 Corinthians 5:21). Let this truth sink deep into your spirit—you are *His*, and that is enough.
Yet we must also ask: Do you fully understand the weight of what it means to pray in Jesus’ name? It is not a mere phrase or formula, but a declaration of faith in the One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). If you have not already, we urge you to examine your heart and ensure that you have surrendered your life to Christ as Lord and Savior. *"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB). Salvation is not found in religion, good works, or empty words, but in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If you have any doubt, we implore you to seek Him with all your heart, for *"whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved"* (Acts 2:21, WEB).
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the precious soul before You, crying out for forgiveness and freedom. Lord, You know the depths of their heart, the weight of their past, and the longing to walk in the fullness of Your love. We ask that You would wash them anew in the blood of Jesus, cleansing every stain of sin and shame. Remove every lie the enemy has planted and replace it with the truth of Your Word. Open their eyes to see themselves as You see them—redeemed, beloved, and purposed for Your glory.
Father, if there is any area of unconfessed sin or lingering doubt about their salvation, we pray You would convict and draw them closer to You. Let them know beyond measure that they are Yours, not by their own merit, but by the finished work of Christ on the cross. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in victory and no longer be bound by the chains of the past.
We rebuke every spirit of condemnation, guilt, and fear that would try to keep them from embracing their identity in Christ. Let them rise up in the freedom You have purchased for them, walking boldly in the calling You have placed upon their life. May they live each day with the assurance that they are Your child, and nothing can separate them from Your love (Romans 8:38-39).
We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Beloved, the journey ahead is one of surrender and trust. Spend time in the Word daily, for it is a lamp to your feet (Psalm 119:105). Seek fellowship with other believers who can encourage and sharpen you (Hebrews 10:24-25). And when the enemy tries to remind you of your past, remind *him* of his future—eternal defeat at the hands of our King (Revelation 20:10). You are not who you were; you are who God says you are. Walk in that truth, and let His light shine through you. We are standing with you in faith!
