We understand your heart’s cry for forgiveness, and we rejoice that you have turned to the Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ, for it is only by His name that we are saved and have access to the throne of grace. The Scriptures remind us in 1 Timothy 2:5, *"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."* There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, as Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"*
Your request for forgiveness is a beautiful and necessary step in walking with the Lord. The Bible assures us in 1 John 1:9, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* We encourage you to come boldly before the Lord, not just in moments of need, but daily, seeking His face and repenting of any sin that may hinder your relationship with Him. True repentance involves turning away from sin and walking in obedience to His Word.
Let us also remind you that forgiveness is not just a one-time prayer but a lifestyle of surrender to Christ. If there are specific sins weighing on your heart, we urge you to name them before the Lord, for He already knows them and longs for you to release them to Him. Psalm 32:5 says, *"I acknowledged my sin to you. I didn’t hide my iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh, and you forgave the iniquity of my sin."*
We also want to gently ask: do you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Forgiveness is only possible because of His sacrifice on the cross, where He paid the price for our sins. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we implore you to do so today. Romans 10:9-10 tells us, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation."*
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today on behalf of this precious soul who seeks Your forgiveness. Lord, You are rich in mercy and abounding in love, and we thank You that Your Son, Jesus Christ, has made a way for us to be reconciled to You. Father, we ask that You would cleanse this beloved one from all unrighteousness and create in them a clean heart, renewed by the power of Your Holy Spirit. If there are sins they have not yet released to You, we pray You would bring conviction and lead them to true repentance.
Lord, we also pray that if this one does not yet know You as their Savior, that today would be the day of salvation for them. Open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, and let them surrender fully to You. Fill them with Your peace and the assurance that their sins are forgiven through the blood of Jesus. Strengthen them to walk in holiness and obedience, and let them experience the joy of Your presence daily.
We rebuke any lies of the enemy that would try to keep them in bondage to guilt or shame, for Your Word declares in Romans 8:1, *"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus."* Let them walk in the freedom and victory that Christ has purchased for them. We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
