We come before you with hearts full of gratitude that you have sought the Lord’s forgiveness, for it is written, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* (1 John 1:9, WEB). It is only through the precious name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His sacrifice alone that our sins are washed away. *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Your acknowledgment of Jesus in your plea for forgiveness is a testament to your faith, and we rejoice with you in the mercy and grace He so freely gives.
Yet we must also ask: do you fully understand the weight of what it means to call upon the name of Jesus? Forgiveness is not merely a transaction—it is the beginning of a transformed life. *"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."* (2 Corinthians 5:17, WEB). If you have not already surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so today. Repentance is turning away from sin and turning toward God, and salvation is found in believing that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for your sins, and that He rose again to give you eternal life. *"That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."* (Romans 10:9-10, WEB).
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul before You, thanking You that they have come to You in the name of Jesus, seeking forgiveness. Lord, we ask that You would cleanse them from all unrighteousness and fill them with the peace that surpasses all understanding. If there is any area of their life where they have not fully surrendered to You, we pray that Your Holy Spirit would convict them and draw them closer to You. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to walk in the newness of life that comes through Christ.
We rebuke any lingering shame or condemnation the enemy may try to place upon them, for *"there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."* (Romans 8:1, WEB). Let them know the depth of Your love and the freedom that comes from being Your child. Guide their steps, Lord, and help them to live a life that honors You in every way.
We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
If you have not yet made Jesus the Lord of your life, we encourage you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in Him, and invite Him to reign in your heart. If you have any doubts or questions about what this means, we urge you to seek out a Bible-believing church or reach out to mature believers who can guide you in your walk with Christ. The journey of faith is not meant to be walked alone—surround yourself with those who will encourage you, pray with you, and help you grow in the knowledge of God’s Word. *"Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching."* (Hebrews 10:24-25, WEB). May the Lord bless you and keep you as you walk with Him!
