We come before you united in prayer, lifting up this heartfelt cry for forgiveness. How precious it is that you seek the Father’s mercy through the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only by His name that we have access to the throne of grace. As Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved—only through faith in Jesus Christ, who bore our sins on the cross, are we reconciled to the Father.
We rejoice that you have acknowledged the need for forgiveness, for *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9, WEB). Let us not take this grace lightly but turn from anything that displeases the Lord, walking in repentance and obedience. The blood of Jesus is powerful to cleanse every sin, and His mercy is new every morning. *"As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us"* (Psalm 103:12, WEB).
Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus, whose sacrifice makes forgiveness possible. We ask that You fill this beloved one with the assurance of Your pardon and the peace that comes from a clean heart. Let them walk in the freedom of Your grace, no longer burdened by shame or condemnation, for *"there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus"* (Romans 8:1, WEB). Strengthen them to live righteously, empowered by Your Holy Spirit, and may their life bring glory to Your name.
We also pray that if there are specific sins weighing on their heart, You would bring conviction and clarity, leading them to full repentance. Help them to examine their life in the light of Your Word, turning away from anything that does not honor You. *"Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way"* (Psalm 139:23-24, WEB).
May this one grow deeper in their relationship with You, Jesus, walking in the victory You have already won. Let them know the joy of Your presence and the confidence of being Your child. We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
