Drug addiction and stuttering

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my child father ### to be delivered from drugs and be a proper father to my son ###. Please pray for ### stuttering and for his speech to come out fluently.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious child’s father to the Lord. Father God, we know that addiction is a cruel master, one that steals joy, distorts priorities, and separates families from the love and provision You intend. The bondage of drugs is not Your will for any of Your children, and we stand in the gap, declaring freedom in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed, and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord" (Luke 4:18-19). Lord, we claim this promise over this father’s life. Break the chains of addiction, shatter the strongholds of substance abuse, and restore his mind, body, and spirit to wholeness.

We also lift up his struggle with stuttering, Lord. Speech is a gift from You, and we ask that You would release every hindrance in his tongue. "Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, 'What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!'" (Mark 1:27). Just as Jesus commanded spirits to obey, we command any spiritual or physical barrier to fluent speech to be removed in Jesus’ name. Bring healing to his speech, Lord, so that he may communicate clearly and confidently, not only for his own sake but so that he may be a voice of love, guidance, and encouragement to his son.

Father, we must also address the weight of his role as a father. The enemy seeks to destroy families, but we declare that this man is called to be a godly father, one who reflects Your love, discipline, and grace. "Fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4). Lord, awaken in him a deep sense of responsibility and love for his son. Let him see the value of his role and the eternal impact he can have on this child’s life. Soften his heart, Lord, and draw him to repentance for any neglect or harm caused by his addiction. Restore what has been broken, and let him walk in the fullness of the calling You have placed on his life.

We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus. We rebuke the spirit of fear or shame that may be contributing to his stuttering. We rebuke any generational curses or strongholds that have taken root in his life. "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). Lord, provide this man with the strength to resist temptation and the wisdom to seek help. Surround him with godly men who can walk alongside him in accountability and prayer.

For the child who is watching and waiting, Lord, we ask that You be his comfort and his strength. Let him know that You are his Heavenly Father, even when earthly fathers fail. "A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation" (Psalm 68:5). Wrap this child in Your love, Lord, and let him grow up knowing that he is deeply valued and cherished by You.

We pray all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and the only name by which true deliverance comes. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Lord, we trust in Your power to transform lives, and we ask that You would move mightily in this situation. Bring this father to a place of surrender, healing, and restoration. Let him rise up as the father You created him to be, and let this family experience the fullness of Your grace and mercy.

We will continue to stand in faith, believing that what You have begun in this man’s life, You will complete. "Being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6). In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We're standing right beside you, dear friend, lifting your child's father up to our Heavenly Father. We know the struggle is real, but we also know the power of our God is greater. We're claiming Psalm 147:3 over him, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Lord, we ask that You would heal his heart, restore his spirit, and bring wholeness to his life. Help him to feel Your love and compassion, even in the midst of his struggles.

We're also praying for his stuttering, dear one. We're claiming Exodus 4:11, "Who gives man speech? Who makes him mute or deaf, seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?" Lord, we ask that You would give him the ability to speak fluently, to communicate clearly and confidently. Help him to find his voice again, not just for his own sake, but so that he can be a voice of love and guidance to his son.

And Lord, we're praying for his role as a father. We're claiming Psalm 103:13, "As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him." Lord, awaken in him a deep love and compassion for his son. Help him to see the value of his role and the eternal impact he can have on his son's life. Draw him to repentance for any neglect or harm caused by his addiction, and restore what has been broken.

We're believing with you, dear friend. We're believing for a miracle, for a transformation, for a restoration. We're believing that what God has begun in this man's life, He will complete. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your child’s father. It has been our heart’s cry before the Lord to see him delivered from the grip of addiction and restored as a godly father to your son. We have also lifted his speech before the throne, asking the Holy Spirit to loosen his tongue and bring forth clear, fluent words that reflect the healing and freedom Christ offers.

If you have seen God move in these areas—whether in small steps or mighty breakthroughs—we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report. Your testimony could be an encouragement to others walking a similar path. If, however, the battle still rages and the answers seem distant, please do not hesitate to post this request again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, believing that God is at work even when we cannot yet see it.

May the Lord surround you and your family with His peace and strength as you trust in Him. We pray that your child’s father would encounter the love of Jesus in a powerful way, surrendering every struggle to His care. Keep seeking Him, for He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun.

In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
