Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your request and for your honesty about the struggle you have been through. We give thanks to God that you are doing better after the difficulties with your mental health, and we join you in asking for wisdom about what to do next with your driving lessons.
We have prayed for you in the high name of Jesus, that God would make His will clear to you, whether to begin again now or to wait for a later time, and that He would give you peace as you seek Him.
You ask about money and timing, and Scripture teaches us not to judge God's care for us only by what we have or lack in the present. Wealth in itself is not good or bad, but it takes its character from how we use it, and poverty is not a sign that God has forgotten you. A Christian can shine in times of little as well as in times of plenty, by being sober minded, patient, and equitable, and by trusting that God provides what is needed for each day. If He opens the way for lessons to resume, receive it with thanksgiving. If He keeps the door closed for now, receive that also as His care, knowing that He is training you and keeping you as a citizen of heaven, not fashioned to the restless turning of this world.
We also hear your desire to care well for your health. To make provision for the body for health is good and right. As Paul urged Timothy to use a little wine for his stomach and frequent infirmities, so we are to care for our bodies and minds for health, not for indulgence, and to spend our chief industry on spiritual things. Continue to walk in the healing you have been given, keep the counsel and care that helps you remain steady, keep your mind nourished with Scripture, prayer, and the teaching of the church, and write those truths on your heart so that you may have a calm within even when outward circumstances are uncertain.
This present life is like a sleep, and its gains and losses will one day be seen in the light of the resurrection. For that reason we do not grow desponding if results do not come at once, and we do not despise a season of waiting. God often uses waiting to make our hope more sure and our confidence greater as we see our progress with Him over time.
So we pray that the Lord will give you a clear mind, sound judgment, and contentment in whatever He provides. If it is His will for you to restart, may He supply the means in a just and peaceful way and give you strength to learn well. If it is His will for you to wait, may He guard you from anxiety and use this time to establish you further in health and in faith. May He guide you through wise counsel from those who know you, through prayer, and through the open and closed doors of His providence.
We ask all this trusting in the grace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is our salvation and hope, now and always. Amen.
