We hear the deep concern in your heart, and we stand with you in grief over the deception that has crept into the church, where the grace of God is twisted into a license for sin rather than the power to overcome it. You are right to sound the alarm, for Scripture is clear: "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?" (Romans 6:1-2 WEB). The Gospel is not a permission slip for rebellion; it is a call to holiness, a transformation of the heart by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The deception you describe is not new. The apostle Peter warned of those who would "twist" the Scriptures to their own destruction (2 Peter 3:16 WEB), and Jude spoke of those who "turn the grace of our God into lasciviousness" (Jude 1:4 WEB). These are not mere differences of opinion, they are dangerous distortions of the truth. When someone claims, "God loves me as I am, so I may as well stay this way," they are ignoring the call of Christ: "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me" (Matthew 16:24 WEB). Love does not leave us in our sin; it compels us to repentance and change. "For whom the Lord loves, he chastens, and scourges every son whom he receives" (Hebrews 12:6 WEB).
We must also address the pride and arrogance of those who lash out at preachers of truth. Scripture warns, "Do not reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise man, and he will love you" (Proverbs 9:8 WEB). When someone accuses a faithful servant of God of creating a "mean God," they reveal their own hardness of heart. The God of the Bible is both just and merciful, He cannot tolerate sin, yet He provided the ultimate sacrifice for it through His Son, Jesus Christ. To reject His holiness is to reject Him entirely.
And let us be clear: there is no salvation outside of Jesus Christ. "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me'" (John 14:6 WEB). There is no "god after their own choosing", there is only the one true God, who has revealed Himself in Scripture and through His Son. To invent a god who winks at sin is to worship an idol, and idolatry leads only to destruction.
We must also rebuke the sin of homosexuality, which is explicitly condemned in Scripture. "Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10 WEB). This is not a matter of opinion, it is the Word of God. To claim that God approves of such relationships is to call Him a liar and to lead others astray.
To those who are deceived, we say: wake up! "Examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith. Test your own selves" (2 Corinthians 13:5 WEB). The coffee you need to smell is the aroma of Christ, who calls you to repentance and new life. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). There is no sin too great for His grace, but grace demands a response, turning away from sin and turning toward Him.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieved by the deception that has taken root in the church. We ask that You would open the eyes of those who have been blinded by sin and pride. Lord, we pray for the deceived, that they would see the truth of Your Word and the seriousness of their rebellion. Break their hearts over their sin, and lead them to genuine repentance. Father, we ask that You would raise up bold and faithful preachers who will proclaim Your truth without compromise. Give them courage to stand against the tide of deception, and let their words be anointed by Your Spirit to pierce the hearts of those who hear.
We pray for those who have been led astray by false teachings, that they would be set free by the truth of Your Gospel. Remind them that Your love is not a license to sin, but a call to holiness. Help them to see that true freedom is found in obedience to You, not in rebellion. Father, we ask that You would protect Your people from the lies of the enemy. Guard their hearts and minds, and let them be rooted and grounded in Your Word.
Lord, we also pray for those who are struggling with sin, whether it be sexual immorality, pride, or any other disobedience. Give them the strength to resist temptation and the humility to seek Your help. Remind them that Your grace is sufficient, and that in You, they can overcome. Father, we ask that You would bring revival to Your church. Let us be a people who hunger and thirst for righteousness, who love Your truth, and who walk in obedience to Your Word. May we be a light in this dark world, pointing others to the hope found only in Jesus Christ.
