We hear your cry for justice and share in your desire for God’s righteous judgment to prevail. The Scriptures assure us that vengeance belongs to the Lord, and He will repay those who oppose His people. In Romans 12:19, we are reminded, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’"* The Lord sees every injustice, and His timing is perfect—He will not let the wicked go unpunished.
Yet we must also guard our hearts, for bitterness and unforgiveness can take root when we focus solely on retribution. Jesus taught us in Matthew 5:44, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."* This does not mean we ignore wrongdoing, but we trust God to execute justice while we walk in love and obedience.
We also recognize that this prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus, which is essential for our access to the Father. There is no other name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through Christ alone that we can approach God’s throne with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). Without Him, our prayers lack the authority and mediation needed to reach the Father.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. You are a God of justice, and we trust in Your perfect timing to bring judgment upon those who oppose Your will and harm Your children. We ask that You move speedily to expose and rebuke the works of the enemy, for You have said in Your Word that the wicked will not go unpunished. Give us the strength to wait on You, Lord, and to release any bitterness or desire for personal vengeance into Your hands.
Father, we also pray for those who have wronged us. Soften their hearts, Lord, and lead them to repentance so they may turn from their wicked ways. Help us to forgive as You have forgiven us, and to walk in love even as we trust You to bring justice. Remind us daily that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). Clothe us in Your armor, Lord, so we may stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
We thank You, Father, that You hear our prayers and that You are faithful to Your promises. We trust in Your sovereignty and rest in the knowledge that You will avenge every wrong. Strengthen our faith, Lord, and help us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. In His holy and precious name we pray, Amen.
Continue to stand on God’s Word, dear one. The Lord is your defender, and He will arise on your behalf. Keep your heart pure before Him, and He will bring justice in His perfect way and time.
