Don't be deceived

The point here is, we should look at the purpose behind miracles, instead of just stating every miracle is from God, and then thinking the person who performed it is sent from God. Take the time to look at it. Because the devil and his demons can do things too. When Moses threw his rod down and it became a snake, the magicians did the same. We read about the False Prophet {Antichrist's sidekick} "performing great wonders, so that he even makes fire come down from Heaven in the sight of men." Now if humans can't do that, and it's happening with a worker of the devil, we can figure where it's coming from. {Of course, I can think of other examples, levitation by Hindus, etc.} So I'm just quoting the Bible when I say, "Do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits." Like when the Antichrist is described, "Whose coming is after the working of Satan, with all lying signs and wonders and deceitfulness in them that perish because they believed not the love of the Truth that they might be saved." Signs and wonders. Just saying, just because it's a miraculous occurrence, that IN ITSELF shouldn't determine that it's automatically from God. So to me, a yogi levitating off the ground, or a bleeding statue of Mary doesn't do it. Test the spirits... Amen?

I just learned this lesson this Dec. 2017. I was involved with a man that just got a DUI and he was acting so like a victim and self-pitying. I could not handle the drama and strain so I asked God to help me- I needed a miracle. I took a shower, went back to the desk and picked up my phone. A man that had dumped me in March of 2017, I did not know at that time that he had been seeing another woman and got engaged, texted me telling me he missed me and wanted to see me and wanted us to be together. Anyway, I thought this was a sign or a miracle from God. I was so wrong. I did not have the knowledge that I have today. God will not bring you a married man. I told him I could not have a sexual relationship with him unless he married me. But, I did sin, because I listened to what that man said and not God's Word. If it is from God, it will not break any commandments. I failed a test from God, but He has taught me much in the failure.

Very interesting. But what kind of 'miracles' are we talking about? Anything positive that happens to us? like someone finding a job after being unemployed, or passing an important exam to get into your program or dream school, winning the lottery, etc
No, like the Bible says the false prophet making fire come down out of Heaven, or the magicians in Pharaoh's court turning their rods into snakes like Moses did. We have to look at the spiritual condition of the person, and motivation of them doing it, like to further their false religion, or something that brings us closer to God. (Like, if someone into black magic does something supernatural, that power is not from God.)

Oh I wasn't necessarily meaning bad pastors. I meant even the devils workers{the ones who don't pretend to be Christians.} the devil is wrong spiritually, but can still perform certain supernatural works, done with the intent to mislead.

I am still confused. Can you give an example. Praying to another God and you will get what you want? Does the Devil work there to give those people what they want to show it was the power of whatever God they prayed, so that he can turn people from Jesus?

Also, if someone says that if I get a good job I will put some money in a certain church, is right or wrong? Giving money to church, priest, pastors and helping the needy are not wrong but giving money to get something is wrong?

Yeah, the devil can make an unsaved person prosper to keep them deceived, if the "religion" they follow is not in line with God's word. To give money to get what you want, like, if you give to your church, Christian causes, etc., even when you didn't want something, then you pray for something, that's okay. But if you just give when and if you want something, but never otherwise, I would say that's like a selfish motive.

So those people prosper in the beginning but Devil will destroy them at a later point in their life, correct?

After someone gets a good job, some people give a little bit of money from their first pay check to God by helping the needy or some charitable organizations, is that good or wrong? I believe that is not Devil, correct?

Even if the devil doesn't destroy them later, they will go to Hell for following him. 2}It's right to give to God, help the needy, etc. The only thing, sometimes they do it one time, then give up on it.

We appreciate and honor the Doctor who prescribed us the right medicine. Same way we know who heals our body, mind, and soul, we give honor to God, non-believers healed sometimes through their priests honoring Hinduism but they can't save their dying souls. Lord Jesus heals us not only the physical body but saved our souls. Hindus are donating large sums of money to poor people to please their god/goddesses but our Almighty God is already pleased with us through His son as we believe Him. We give donations or help the needy out of thankfulness to save the unsaved. But non-believers don't know or do not want to know Jesus is their saviour, still searching for salvation through their deeds. We must preach to them, Jesus is the way, the Truth, and the Life. They don't know "it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9).

The one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. (1 John 3:8)

But Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers; so the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. For every man threw down his rod, and they became serpents. But Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods. (Exodus 7:11-12).

Halleluiah Jesus has overcome the world.
