Don't be a fan of death

I believe in life.It was given to us by God.But it appears I'm vastly outnumbered.Because in the unsaved world, it seems choosing death over life with the ingrained belief that death is an "escape" seems to be "the thing". The most recent case that reminded me of this is with my mother, who made a decision to choose suicide. No, not by holding a gun to her head, but by withholding lifesaving treatment. She has kidney issues and needs dialysis.Because she has pain also, she's been clamoring from the beginning to get off it it so she can die. And it looks like she's finally going to get her way. Also, although to me this is a form of suicide, all the others--my sister, brother in law and aunt, are cheering her on to kill herself this way.I'm the only one who seems to think that one should die in their own time, not hasten it to avoid things. But it wasn't just this, even from before when the pain wasn't "as" bad,she was saying that death is an escape and starting to chose it over life.Furthermore, this is far from a unique case--it seems almost every unsaved person I've heard speak on this , if someone has any problem, others back the person to go ahead and kill themselves. Choosing death over life. The unsaved think death is some kind of "great escape" from problems. This is escapism, plain and simple.Let's see how much of an escape it is when they wake up in Hell for eternity. {But that's what the devil wants, that's why he encourages them to kill themselves BEFORE getting saved.}That's probably why he planted this love of death in unsaved people.Self destruction. What the Bible ACTUALLY says is that death is an enemy, brought about by sin.Not an escape, like a vacation paradise.Well..?Also, in Revelation we read,"And death will be no more."We escape FROM death, not TO it.So why are unsaved people such fans of death? You tell me.

I wouldn't want to try to explain that to God — talking about skating on thin ice! Someone kills themself then expects to explain to God they had saving faith?

It’s a very weak argument at best. I wouldn't want to try to explain that to God — talking about skating on thin ice! Someone kills themself then expects to explain to God they had saving faith? “His children that are truly saved” don’t kill themselves! Think about what you are encouraging — who are the notorious people who have killed themselves in the Bible? Samson? Saul? Judas? How about in society? Hitler? Unsaved rock singers and actors?
Suicide is not an unforgivable sin. Nowhere in the Bible says that. God is not going to condemn any of "His" children who are "truly" saved to hell. He knows when His children have emotional problems and the only way out that they see is suicide. Suicide is not the answer, God is the answer. God knew they were going to commit suicide. Nothing catches God by surprise.

Romans 10:13 - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
John 10:28 - And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand.

Is Suicide the Unforgivable Sin?

While suicide is a sin, It is NOT the unforgivable sin. (There is only one unforgivable sin and it is rejecting Jesus. Read: What is the unpardonable (unforgivable) sin? What if I commit it?) Suicide is the taking of human life. It is a self-inflicted murder. However, just like any sin, it also has been paid for by Jesus. Jesus died to pay for ALL sins. And for those who belong to Him, all their sins are forgiven.

Therefore, if you are missing a friend, relative, or loved one who had been redeemed and regenerated by Jesus but committed suicide, their sin did not condemn them. Every one of the believer’s sins were paid for by Jesus on the cross. When Jesus saved the person, the person received God’s forgiveness for every sin (past, present, and future), including the final sin of suicide. Jesus has promised that He has prepared a place for those who belong to Him and that He will come to receive them unto Himself (John 14:1-4). This was not a conditional promise. Jesus promised that no one can take one of His own out of His hand (John 10:28). That means that no sin a redeemed person commits will cause them to lose their eternal salvation. No one who belongs to Jesus will ever perish.

For a person who does not belong to Jesus and commits suicide, they face the consequences of dying in unforgiven sin. God will judge them accordingly. While God can forgive all sins, He cannot overlook any sin. All sin must be paid for. And if someone dies in their sin, they are already condemned.

John 3:18 “He who believes in [Jesus] is not condemned [they have been forgiven and given the righteousness of Christ]; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (bracketed information added)

It is not a weak argument because God's Word is not WEAK. It is the truth. God's Word is TRUTH. When you STUDY the Word of God in depth and seek truth from God you don't go by what people think or say. You go by the Word of God. Pray and seek God about suicide.

Hi Linda — not going to argue eternal security with you — we know a tree by it’s fruit. Suicide is taking a life = murder. What kind of saving faith takes one’s own life? No saving faith. What kind of fruit is murder? Bad fruit. What kind of a tree bears bad fruit — not a “saved tree.” We were created by God to image Him, honor Him and praise Him (Rev 4:11). Breaking one of The 10 Commandments “Thou shalt not kill” (Ex 20:13) is very dishonoring to The Name of God, His gift of life and blasphemes the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

““You shall not murder.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭20:13‬ ‭NASB‬‬

“Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:15‬ ‭NASB‬‬

“But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.””
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:8‬ ‭NASB‬‬

“And he *said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous, still practice righteousness; and the one who is holy, still keep himself holy.” “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying. “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.” The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost. I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book. He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭22:10-21‬ ‭NASB‬‬

Dear sister, we can’t teach falsehood — alcoholics don’t go to heaven, either... In fact there are clear lists given for warnings all over the Bible so no one can say they were without excuse... “Why didn’t you warn me will not have any ground, unless a minister relaxed someone in their sin, then Hebrews and Ezekiel says God will require it from the minister’s hand.”

“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:9-10‬ ‭NASB‬‬

“Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:19-21‬ ‭NASB‬‬

My brother you need to study the Bible in depth. First of all, Salvation is for the sinner, and deliverance is for the saints. God is working on you and me also because we are not perfect, but his blood makes us righteous. Thank You Jesus.

Matthew 21:28-31 New Living Translation (NLT)
Parable of the Two Sons
28 “But what do you think about this? A man with two sons told the older boy, ‘Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.’ 29 The son answered, ‘No, I won’t go,’ but later he changed his mind and went anyway. 30 Then the father told the other son, ‘You go,’ and he said, ‘Yes, sir, I will.’ But he didn’t go. 31 “Which of the two obeyed his father?”
They replied, “The first.” Then Jesus explained his meaning: “I tell you the truth, corrupt tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the Kingdom of God before you do.

1st Corinthians, Galatians, Hebrews and Revelation warnings are written to the Church, warning Christians are not deceived by sin to loose their salvation or their lamp stands...

Ezekiel Chapter 33

“And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Son of man, speak to the sons of your people and say to them, ‘If I bring a sword upon a land, and the people of the land take one man from among them and make him their watchman, and he sees the sword coming upon the land and blows on the trumpet and warns the people, then he who hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, and a sword comes and takes him away, his blood will be on his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet but did not take warning; his blood will be on himself. But had he taken warning, he would have delivered his life. But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned, and a sword comes and takes a person from them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require from the watchman’s hand.’ “Now as for you, son of man, I have appointed you a watchman for the house of Israel; so you will hear a message from My mouth and give them warning from Me. When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require from your hand. But if you on your part warn a wicked man to turn from his way and he does not turn from his way, he will die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your life. “Now as for you, son of man, say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus you have spoken, saying, “Surely our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we are rotting away in them; how then can we survive?” ’ Say to them, ‘As I live!’ declares the Lord GOD, ‘I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways! Why then will you die, O house of Israel?’ And you, son of man, say to your fellow citizens, ‘The righteousness of a righteous man will not deliver him in the day of his transgression, and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he will not stumble because of it in the day when he turns from his wickedness; whereas a righteous man will not be able to live by his righteousness on the day when he commits sin.’ When I say to the righteous he will surely live, and he so trusts in his righteousness that he commits iniquity, none of his righteous deeds will be remembered; but in that same iniquity of his which he has committed he will die. But when I say to the wicked, ‘You will surely die,’ and he turns from his sin and practices justice and righteousness, if a wicked man restores a pledge, pays back what he has taken by robbery, walks by the statutes which ensure life without committing iniquity, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of his sins that he has committed will be remembered against him. He has practiced justice and righteousness; he shall surely live. “Yet your fellow citizens say, ‘The way of the Lord is not right,’ when it is their own way that is not right. When the righteous turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, then he shall die in it. But when the wicked turns from his wickedness and practices justice and righteousness, he will live by them. Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not right.’ O house of Israel, I will judge each of you according to his ways.””

‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭33:1-20‬ ‭NASB‬‬
