DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT

Disciple of Prayer
I have been trying to get TIF with hernia repair for months. Please in Jesus's name pray I finally get these surgeries and have excellent, lasting results. Also the hernia doc referred me to a plastic surgeon for a breast reduction. I have that appointment today. I am ### years old, and I am really not sure about getting this procedure. Some of my friends are for it; my sisters are both cautioning me. Pray in Jesus's name that the appointment today goes smoothly, and I make the right decision.

We join with you in Jesus' name and lift up your health and this important decision before our Father together.

We understand how long and wearying it has been to wait for months for the TIF procedure with hernia repair, and we pray with you for open doors and for excellent and lasting results when the Lord provides them. We know He is the One who heals us, as He says in Jeremiah 30:17, But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, and in Exodus 15:26, I am Yahweh who heals you. We pray He will guide the hands and minds of your surgeons, grant them skill and wisdom, and bring you complete healing and strength in your body which is a temple of the Holy Spirit as taught in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

For your appointment today with the plastic surgeon, we pray for peace and clarity and a smooth visit. We hear your uncertainty and we honor the caution your sisters have shared with you. There is wisdom in a multitude of counselors as Proverbs 11:14 reminds us, and it is right to weigh this carefully and not rush. At your age and stage of life it is wise to ask hard questions about necessity, risks, benefits, recovery, and motives. We are fearfully and wonderfully made as Psalm 139:14 tells us, and our bodies are to be stewarded for health and for the glory of God, not for vanity or for the pressure of others, even well meaning friends. If a breast reduction is truly for health, to relieve pain and burden and to help you serve the Lord and care for your hernia and overall wellness, that can be a legitimate stewardship decision. If it is more for appearance or outside pressure, we would encourage you to pause and seek the Lord's will. We encourage you to ask the surgeon about medical need, long term outcomes, risks, and alternatives, to seek a second opinion if needed, and to bring your sisters' concerns and your own questions openly before the Lord.

We are thankful you have called on the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father and it is in His name our prayers are heard as John 14:6 teaches that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and Acts 4:12 that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.

We pray together now for you. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and lift up our sister to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see her struggle and her waiting for the TIF and hernia repair, and we ask that You make a way where there has been delay, that You provide the right doctors at the right time, and that when these surgeries take place You grant perfect skill to the surgeons and complete and lasting healing to her body. Give her strength and patience as she waits. For today, Lord, we ask that her appointment with the plastic surgeon goes smoothly, that she feels heard and respected, that she receives clear and honest information, and that You grant her supernatural wisdom and discernment. Your Word promises in James 1:5 that if any of us lacks wisdom, we should ask of You who gives generously without reproach, and it will be given. Grant her that wisdom, Lord. Help her to trust in You with all her heart and not lean on her own understanding as Proverbs 3:5-6 teaches, and to acknowledge You in all her ways so You will direct her paths. Calm her anxiety and guard her heart and mind with Your peace that surpasses all understanding as Philippians 4:6-7 promises, and let her know that whether she proceeds or waits, You are with her and will uphold her as Isaiah 41:10 assures us. Lead her to the decision that honors You, protects her health, and brings lasting peace. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Healer and our Shepherd, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring every detail to the Lord in prayer, to write down the counsel you receive today, to pray over it with your sisters and with trusted believers, and to give yourself permission to wait if peace does not come. The Lord loves you deeply and cares about every part of your health and your future.

We are praying for you as today unfolds. After months of trying to get the hernia repair scheduled, we understand how much you are hoping for clear next steps and a good, lasting result when it finally happens. And walking into the plastic surgery referral today with friends encouraging one way and your sisters cautioning another can leave you feeling pulled in different directions, especially at ### when any surgery feels weightier.

It makes sense you want to make a careful, unhurried decision. What often helps in this kind of appointment is going in with your own goals and questions written down, so you are not trying to sort everyone else's opinions in the moment. You might bring a short list of what you hope would change for your daily comfort and health, what concerns you most, and specific questions about benefits, risks, recovery, and alternatives including not having surgery. Take notes, ask what you need to, and remember you do not have to give a final answer today. It is okay to take the information home, pray over it, and talk it through further with your primary doctor and a trusted wise voice before you commit.

We are asking the Lord for a calm and respectful appointment today, for wisdom for you and your doctors, and for provision for the hernia repair in the coming months. Please keep your medical team closely involved as you weigh this.

Father, we lift our sister to You today. Give her peace as she walks into this appointment, clarity as she listens and asks questions, and wisdom to discern the right next step for her health. We ask You to provide for the hernia repair and to guide the hands of those who will care for her. Lead her gently as she seeks Your will, in Jesus' name, amen.

Thank you for praying 🙏

Your prayer request has been brought before the Lord with care and sympathy, and we join you in seeking His mercy and wisdom in these matters of the body.

We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are painful and press us to seek a physician or a surgeon for healing, and the Lord in His goodness has provided skill to doctors and means of relief. It is right to seek such help while remembering that it is the Lord who sends His Word and heals us and delivers us from our distresses. Healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction in Christ, for He is the Word whom God has sent to be the sinner's Friend and Saviour, and whether He sees fit to grant full bodily restoration now or to sustain us in weakness, we may trust that He does all things well and will give strength for our daily walk and our daily work.

We pray in the name of Jesus that the Lord will guide the hands and minds of those who care for you, that if it be His will you may at last receive the TIF with hernia repair you have long sought, and that He would grant excellent and lasting results for your health and comfort. We pray also for your appointment today with the plastic surgeon to which you were referred. We understand your uncertainty at this season of life, with some friends encouraging you toward the breast reduction and your sisters counselling caution. Such a decision deserves unhurried prayer, wise counsel and a clear conscience before God. Religion is not a thing for churches and chapels alone, but for every part of life, and the Lord would have you wait only upon Him, asking for His light to direct you. Consider your motives before Him, stewardship of the body He has given you, true necessity for health and function, and the counsel of godly and prudent advisors. May the commandment be a lamp and the law be a light to you, that you may discern the way that leads to life and peace.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, our healer and our refuge, we bring our sister before Thy throne of grace through Jesus Christ Thy Son. Thou knowest her long waiting and her pain, her desire for relief and restoration. If it be Thy will, open the way for these surgeries and prosper the work of the surgeons to lasting good. Be present in the appointment this day, grant clarity, calmness and sound judgment, and give her wisdom to make the right decision in a way that honors Thee and seeks true wellbeing. Forgive our sins and heal our souls, and grant us to trust Thee wholly, for our expectation is from Thee alone. Grant strength for today and hope for the days to come, that we may praise Thee for Thy goodness and for Thy wonderful works to the children of men. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, our only Saviour and King, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
