We hear your deep concern and distress over this medical situation, and we stand with you in seeking God’s wisdom and intervention. First, we want to affirm your trust in Jesus Christ, it is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is by His authority that we pray. Your mention of repentance is also vital, for Scripture tells us, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). We rejoice that you are seeking God’s will in this matter.

Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who is facing a difficult medical decision. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who heals and restores. We ask that You would grant wisdom to all involved, the doctors, the family, and this precious child of Yours. If this proposed surgery is not Your will, we pray that You would intervene and redirect the plans of those who are pressing for it. Soften hearts, Lord, and open minds to consider what is truly best according to Your perfect will. We declare that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust that You will make a way where there seems to be no way.

We also want to gently encourage you to seek godly counsel beyond this situation. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." If possible, consult with another trusted medical professional who can provide clarity and perhaps offer alternative solutions. Additionally, we urge you to stand firm in your convictions while also honoring your mother, as Scripture commands (Ephesians 6:2). This does not mean blindly submitting to her wishes if they conflict with your conscience, but it does mean approaching her with love, respect, and patience.

Lord, we ask that You would grant peace that surpasses all understanding to guard this one’s heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen their faith to trust in You, even when the path is unclear. We declare that You are their healer, their protector, and their guide. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it all. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord in prayer and Scripture, trusting that He hears you and will direct your steps. You are not alone in this, we stand with you, believing that God is at work even now.

We hear how unsettling this is for you, when your body is involved and someone you love is pushing a course you don’t agree with, it can leave you feeling cornered. It makes sense that you’re holding firm. While we can’t give medical advice, we want to encourage you to keep speaking up clearly and calmly with your doctor. Ask every question you still have, and if something remains unclear or you feel rushed, it’s okay to seek a second opinion before moving forward. You’re not being difficult; you’re being the one who lives with the outcome.

We also recognize that in moments of pressure, it’s easy to feel like your own voice doesn’t carry weight. But you do have a voice God gave you, and peace is a good guide. He is not the author of confusion. So as we pray, we’re asking Him to open a way for genuine dialogue, maybe a softened conversation, or even a simple pause that allows the right path to become clearer without the stress of a deadline.

Jesus, we lift up this one who is caught between family concern and their own deep hesitation. You see the fear, the frustration, and the body that is causing concern. Please grant wisdom to the medical team and give this dear person steady confidence to ask hard questions and to wait if they need more time. We ask for a change of heart where that would align with Your will, that this mother would hear her child’s real concerns with respect, and that the doctor would consider a less invasive approach if possible. Surround them with peace that silences panic, and in all the uncertainty, remind them You are present and trustworthy. We pray this in Jesus’ name.

Methinks your soul is in a tempest, and the fear of the surgeon’s knife has driven you to your knees. That is no small mercy, for the Lord often sends rough weather to chase His wandering children into the harbour of prayer. Yet beware lest this trembling before the surgeon’s hand be mistaken for the work of the Holy Spirit. The terrors of the flesh may produce a carnal repentance, an outcry against the present pain, but that is not the repentance which needeth not to be repented of. The goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance, not merely the dread of what man may do.

You speak of repenting of your sins; see that this repentance be of a heavenly stamp. True repentance gives God glory, abhorring sin because it is sin, and because it stabs the heart of Christ who loved thee. It is not a hasty bargain struck in the night of fear, but a lifelong turning from darkness to light, wrought in the renewed heart by divine grace. Look well to this: have you a repentance that leads you to look out of self to Christ, and to Christ only? That is the mark of life. The repentance which is the gift of God and the twin sister of faith is ever joined to remission; where that godly sorrow flows, there the full pardon of all thy sins is already given.

Now touch thy present trial. The leaves of the tree of life are for healing, and the least thing about Jesus is full of virtue for body and soul. Lay hold of His garment’s hem. The Great Physician hath power to heal with means or without, with surgery or apart from it. Thy wisdom is not to dictate the path, but to commit thy cause into His pierced hands, saying, “Not my will, but Thine be done.” A broken and contrite spirit He will not despise. Peradventure the Lord will change the mind of the physician, or perhaps He will sustain thee through the very trial thou fearest, that thy faith might be refined. In every furnace, Christ walks with His own.

Fret not thyself over the morrow. The Lord who forgave the paralytic gave him also strength to rise and carry his bed. Seek first His kingdom and righteousness, and all these other things shall be added. Let sweet Sister Repentance draw thee daily to the Cross, where the blood of cleansing ever flows, and look not chiefly for a change of circumstance, but for such an inward change that thou canst glorify God whether in the fire or in the flood. Repentance that endures is drawn by love; it makes a rainbow with her tears of grief for sin and her glances of hope at the finished work of Christ. Pray on, but pray with submission, and may the Lord Jesus Himself be thy healing and thy portion.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have brought your fear and your refusal before the Lord, and that is right. He does not despise the cry of the troubled. But examine your heart: is your no born of faith or only of terror? Noah was moved by the fear of God and built the ark when the sky was clear; he did not obey the crowd's signs. Your mother and your physician may see a crowded schedule, but a backlog is not a reason to cut the body if your conscience cannot consent. The fear of God is clean; the fear of a calendar is not.

This does not give you leave to despise your mother. Honor her by listening, by speaking gently, and by seeking counsel from a physician you trust. But honor does not mean she may force a surgery upon you against your will. If you are able to give or withhold consent, say plainly and without anger, "I do not consent." Let your words be few and calm. A date on a schedule does not own you; you may withdraw consent before the procedure if your conscience is clear before God. Anxieties are more grievous than many stones; they do not wound the head but consume the soul. Do not allow this dispute to eat you from within.

You said you repent of your sins. Let that repentance not be a sentence added to the end of a prayer. To be renewed is for the same person to be changed in the spirit of the mind, so that old deeds no longer rule. If you have spoken to your mother with contempt or shut your ears to wisdom, confess that directly. If your refusal is not sin but prudence, then stand in peace and entrust the outcome to Christ. Pray not only that another mind be changed, but that your own heart be made gentle, and that the Lord would guide every hand and every counsel. He alone is the physician of body and soul, and His peace will keep your mind. Bring every fear to Him, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Your honest prayer has been heard and we have joined you in prayer in the name of Jesus. It is good that you have repented and called upon Him, for forgiveness and salvation come through Him alone and He hears those who come to Him with a sincere heart.

Fear is very natural when you face a medical decision and when you feel pressed by others to do something you do not believe is right. Scripture reminds us that David said though he walked through the valley of death he would fear no evil because the Lord was with him. Fear often grows when we forget the Lord and His presence. Faith and fear work against each other. Where faith is strong, fear loses its hold, and where fear is allowed to take over, faith is pushed aside. Remembering the Lord, His greatness and His care for you, is the cure for fear. You do not need to make a decision driven by panic or by the fear of what might happen. You can do what is wise and prudent, but not because fear is pushing you.

God never uses pressure or manipulation to force a decision. People often do, even with good intentions. The warning in Scripture about peer pressure is that we can be pushed to do what we know in our hearts we should not do, simply because everyone around us is urging us. A decision before God, including a decision about your body and medical care, should not be made by necessity or by pressure, but willingly and with a clear conscience before Him. That means it is right for you to seek understanding, to ask questions, and to give consent only as you are truly persuaded before the Lord.

God has also given wisdom for family relationships. His ways are meant to build up the family, not tear it apart. Part of that wisdom is learning to honor your mother while also taking responsibility for your own choices before God. You can show respect and love to your mother even as you explain your concerns honestly and calmly, and seek that she would listen and understand your convictions.

The beginning of wisdom is a reverent fear of the Lord, which is to love what He loves and turn away from what is evil, and to stand in awe of who He is. When you do not lean on your own understanding but acknowledge Him in all your ways, He has promised to direct your path. That does not mean you will have every answer at once, but that as you seek Him, He will give guidance. Ask Him for wisdom, and seek wise counsel as well. It is good to ask your doctor to explain clearly why this procedure is recommended, what the alternatives are, and what the risks are, and to seek another medical opinion if you need more clarity. Bring your questions openly and without fear, trusting that if God wants to protect and guide you, He can do so wherever you are.

We pray for you now that the Lord would give you peace that guards your heart, and faith that overcomes fear. We ask that He would give your doctors wisdom and a willingness to listen, and that He would give your mother understanding and peace as you talk together. We ask that He would make your path clear and give you confidence to make a willing, informed decision before Him, and that you would know His presence with you through this whole process. May you continue to trust in the Lord and find rest in knowing He is with you and cares for you.
