We hear your heart and the deep pain behind this story, a tale of deception, broken trust, and the devastating consequences of prioritizing worldly gain over godly wisdom. The enemy often uses the glitter of wealth, status, or false promises to lure us away from the blessings God has already given, especially the sacred covenant of marriage. This mother’s choice to abandon her husband for empty assurances is a stark reminder of how greed and vengeance can destroy lives. Scripture warns us clearly: "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows" (1 Timothy 6:10 WEB).

The ex-husband’s actions were not just deceitful, they were wicked, using manipulation to satisfy his own bitterness. His offer of marriage was never about love or honor; it was a weapon of revenge, and this woman became collateral damage. We must rebuke such evil in Jesus’ name! The Bible tells us, "The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly" (John 10:10 WEB). This man’s schemes were straight from the thief, and we pray for his repentance and for the restoration of all he has broken.

To the mother in this story: if you are reading this, we urge you to turn back to the Lord with a contrite heart. Repentance is not just sorrow, it is a turning away from sin and toward God’s mercy. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). Your marriage was a covenant before God, and though the enemy sought to destroy it, the Lord can still redeem what has been lost if you humble yourself before Him. Seek godly counsel, surround yourself with believers who will speak truth into your life, and reject the lies that wealth or comfort could ever replace the peace of Christ.

To those reading who may be tempted by similar offers, whether of money, status, or fleeting pleasures, we warn you: do not trade eternal treasures for temporary ones. "Do not lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven... For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:19-21 WEB). Marriage is sacred, and it is worth fighting for, not with worldly weapons, but with prayer, faithfulness, and obedience to God’s Word.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieving over the brokenness in this story. Lord, we ask for Your mercy to cover this woman, that she would see the error of her ways and turn back to You with a repentant heart. Restore what has been broken, Father, her marriage, her peace, and her trust in Your provision. We rebuke the spirit of deception and vengeance that drove this man’s actions, and we pray for his salvation, that he would come to know You and repent of his wickedness.

For those reading this who may be facing similar temptations, we ask that You would open their eyes to the truth. Guard their hearts against the love of money and the lies of the enemy. Remind them, Lord, that true contentment is found in You alone. Strengthen marriages, Father, and let Your love be the foundation that no worldly offer can shake.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to You. May Your will be done, and may Your people walk in wisdom and discernment. Amen.

If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so today. He is the only way to true peace, forgiveness, and eternal life. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB). Confess your sins, believe in Him, and follow Him as your Lord and Savior. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

Thank you for sharing this story. It’s a heartbreaking picture of how promises of money and comfort can end up stealing the very things that actually matter. We have seen similar sorrow in families we’ve walked alongside, a spouse lured away by what looked like a better life, only to find loneliness and regret. No amount of wealth or residency can replace the peace of a faithful marriage or the security of being known and loved for who you are.

The pull of a sudden, glittering offer can feel overwhelming, especially when someone is weary or feels invisible. That’s all the more reason never to make such a life-altering decision in isolation. If you or someone you know is hearing promises that ask you to walk away from your commitments, please seek out a wise friend, a pastor, or a counselor before you act. A single honest conversation can often help us see through the haze of temptation.

We ache for the husband left behind, the daughter used as a pawn, and even for the mother who learned too late that material gain is an empty exchange for a loyal heart. May God bring healing and clarity to everyone still tangled in the aftermath. And for anyone standing at a similar crossroads today, this story can serve as a quiet, sobering bell.

Lord Jesus, you see the families torn apart by greed, revenge, and broken trust. Draw near to every person grieving in this situation. Restore dignity where it has been trampled, and give courage to those who need to turn back from a path they already know is wrong. For anyone tempted by hollow promises, open their eyes to the real treasure of steadfast love. In your name we pray, amen.

The cry of a soul that feels its sin is never lost upon the ear of God. The Father’s eyes of mercy are quicker than our eyes of repentance. Long before you saw your wretchedness, He saw you and stood ready to receive you. But there is a repentance that is only the jailer’s trembling under fear of wrath, and there is a repentance that gives God glory, a repentance after a godly sort, which makes a rainbow of her tears of grief for sin and her glances of hope at the finished work of Christ. Do not confound the two. True repentance is not a grim payment to escape hell; it is the Spirit’s gift that abases self in the dust while it lifts Christ high as all in all. The prodigal came with a broken confession, but he found the kiss of a father, not the lash of a judge. Yet mark this: where there is no real loathing of sin because it is against love, there is no remission. The blood that cleanses is applied only to the heart that truly turns.

You say your sins are many and your heart is hard. So were the sins of Manasseh, who filled Jerusalem with blood and passed his own children through the fire. Yet in his affliction he besought the Lord, and the Lord heard him and brought him again to Jerusalem. Your multitude of iniquities is no barrier if you come now by faith in the Son of God. But beware of that self-righteousness which clings to forms of sorrow while secretly clinging to sin. The self-righteous man may say, “Lord, I am no worse than others,” but that is the plea of a blind man. He who trusts to his own tears and resolves is still lost, as surely as if he trusted to his open vices. Repentance and remission are preached in Christ’s name, not as conditions you produce, but as gifts He bestows. You cannot manufacture a saving grief; you must look to Him and receive it from His pierced hand.

Are you ready now to sink low in humility, and then rise high in faith? The repentance that pulls down every hope from self, and the faith that builds wholly upon Christ, these are inseparable twins. If your sorrow has not yet brought you to the foot of the cross, to rest only upon the Substitute, then your wound needs a deeper lance. The Lord Jesus came not to call the righteous but sinners to this very thing. So come, with no plea but His blood, and you shall find that “all manner of sin and blasphemy” shall be forgiven. The Father will not only receive you privately with kisses of peace, but He will robe you and rejoice over you openly, that all may know you are His. Only do not delay, nor listen to the whispers of the evil one who says your sin is too great. The greatest sin is to call God a liar by refusing the Son He has sent. Believe Him now, and though your sins were as scarlet, they shall be white as snow. The truest repentance will ever bloom where faith has first beheld the Saviour’s love. Look to Him and live.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You mistake if you think the water of a bath can cleanse the stain upon your soul. That is a childish thing, a Jewish purification of no profit. Suppose a man has a festering wound within; no amount of washing the skin will heal it. So it is with sin. The defilement that offends God is not on the hands but in the heart. “From the heart,” the Lord says, “proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications.” You have washed your body, yet the rottenness remains. Do not be like those who sin all day and then, after washing, hold up their hands in church as if the guilt had dripped away with the water. It is not the filth of the body but the impurity of the soul to which God is averse.

You speak of a great fall after having known the truth. Such a one deserves severer punishment, for it is a terrible thing to trample underfoot the Son of God. But do not despair. Even for such, the doors of repentance stand open. God desires not your condemnation but your healing. Only the medicine must be strong, because the wound is deep. You need not a basin of water, but a torrent of tears, a heart broken and humbled. The prophet did not cry, “Wash my hands,” but “Create in me a clean heart, O God.” The cleansing must begin within. Confess your sin, condemn yourself, beat your breast like the publican, and God who sees the secrets of every heart will not scorn you. He who forgave the harlot and the thief will not turn away your weeping.

Do not seek the honor of men or trust in outward show. What profit is it to appear pure before others while inwardly you rot? Dedicate yourself to the Lord; make your soul a living sacrifice. Crucify your evil desires, forgive any who have wronged you, stretch out your hand in alms. These are the waters that wash the soul. The God of all mercy, who sent His Son to save and not to condemn, waits to restore you. Only let your repentance be fervent, as one wailing over a beloved dead. Go, and sin no more.

Hearing of this cancer diagnosis stirs our whole church to pray. We do not take such requests lightly, because we know the One to whom we pray. Jesus healed the sick during His ministry, and through the apostles in the early church, His healing power continued. We will lay hands and anoint with oil in His name, confident that the prayer of faith can save the sick and the Lord will raise them up.

But I also want to remind you of what the apostle Paul experienced. He pleaded with the Lord three times for a thorn in his flesh to be removed, and God answered, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” That does not diminish our hope for healing; it anchors our hope in something deeper than a physical outcome. The power that raised Jesus from the dead is the same power that grips a believer’s life, and it can turn a few malignant cells into nothing before the Creator of the universe. So we ask boldly, yet we rest in the sufficiency of Christ.

The most important thing to hold onto right now is this: your standing before God depends entirely on your faith in Jesus, not on the presence or absence of sickness. As Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness, so God sees you in Christ. Your faith in the Messiah has clothed you in His righteousness. That is your unshakable hope, whether facing healing or walking through suffering.

We are coming into agreement with you. Jesus said that if two or three agree on earth concerning anything, it will be done. So we set our hearts with yours, asking for a complete recovery and for an outpouring of grace that carries you day by day. Do not let your gaze be consumed by the illness. Lift your eyes to Jesus, in whom all the fullness of God dwells bodily. He is your life, your healer, and your sustainer. As we pray, we also ask the Lord to strengthen your faith, to increase your love for each other, and to fill your home with a peace that surpasses understanding.
