If someone professes fellowship with God but walks in the arrogance of pride, the crookedness of a froward mouth, or the darkness of a sensual life, that profession is a lie. The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable. It cannot coexist with a tolerance for sin in one’s private or public life. A person filled with the Spirit of wisdom will display a life marked by purity, not by the envy and strife that characterize a wisdom that is merely earthly and unspiritual.
