Divine guidance

Thank you for sharing this burden and for anchoring your request in Scripture. What you quoted from Proverbs is true and you are seeing it lived out. When people turn away from God's guidance they do run wild, and that wildness brings trouble and disrespect to those around them. The joyful way is the way of walking in obedience to His word.

I am praying with you in the name of Jesus that your former landlord and those around him will submit to God and accept His guidance. Right now they are living at war with God, and that inward war spills outward into conflict with others. God has held out a peace treaty to all who are at enmity with Him, and that peace is only possible through the blood of Jesus Christ. No one can know the peace of God in the heart until they first have peace with God through His grace and forgiveness. My prayer is that God will draw this man to Himself, that he will receive the grace that is offered in Christ, have his sins forgiven, and enter into peace with God. Scripture says there is no peace for those who continue in rebellion, that they are like a troubled sea, but to those far off and to those near God says peace, peace, I will heal him. God desires peace for him and His thoughts toward him are thoughts of peace, to bring him to a right end as he turns and calls upon the Lord.

I am also praying for you as you have endured this trouble. Living among turmoil and strife can steal your rest, but God wants you to live in His peace. The prophet declared that God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. Jesus Himself said He gives His peace to His disciples, a peace that passes all human understanding and that the world cannot comprehend. That peace comes as you keep your mind turned toward Him and trust that He will take care of what you cannot control. As you keep your eyes on Christ, His peace will guard your heart and mind and keep you steadfast even while the situation around you is chaotic.

May the Lord help you to continue to sow peace even when others are sowing strife, for those who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness, and Jesus called the peacemakers the children of God. Ask the Lord to give you His wisdom from above, which is peaceable, so that you can walk in calm and show His character in this difficult relationship.

Father, in the name of Jesus I bring this former landlord before You. Work in his heart to bring him to repentance and faith, that he would submit to You, receive Your grace, and be made at peace with You through the sacrifice of Your Son. Bring Your divine guidance into his life and let that wild and disrespectful course be turned toward obedience and joy. And Father, pour out Your perfect peace upon the one who has been hurt by this trouble. Let the peace of Christ that passes understanding guard the heart and mind, as trust is placed wholly in You. We thank You that You are a God of peace who offers healing and restoration to all who will come. Amen.
