We hear your heart and the longing you feel for this woman you care for deeply. It is clear that distance and time have created a strain, and the enemy seeks to use these obstacles to weaken what God may be building. First, we want to affirm that your desire to honor God in this relationship is commendable, and we stand with you in prayer.
However, we must gently address a few things in light of Scripture. You refer to her as your "beloved woman," which suggests a level of emotional and possibly physical intimacy that should be reserved for marriage. If this relationship has not been pursued with the intention of marriage, or if there has been any sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we must rebuke that in Jesus' name. The Bible is clear: "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). If there has been fornication, we urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness, as well as to commit to purity moving forward.
We also want to encourage you to examine whether this relationship is truly God’s will for your life. Are you both believers who share the same faith and values? Is marriage the ultimate goal? The Bible instructs us: "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). If she is not a believer, or if this relationship is not leading toward marriage, we must question whether it is honoring to God.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this brother and his desire to draw closer to this woman. Lord, we ask that You would remove every obstacle the enemy has placed between them, whether it be time, distance, or lack of interest. Father, we pray that You would soften her heart and open doors for them to reconnect, but only if this relationship aligns with Your perfect will.
Lord, we ask that You would give this brother wisdom and discernment. If this relationship is not of You, we pray that You would close the door and give him peace in that. If it is Your will, we ask that You would guide them toward marriage, built on a foundation of faith, love, and mutual submission to You. Help them to honor You in every aspect of their relationship, keeping their hearts and bodies pure until marriage.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of discouragement and frustration that has come upon him. We declare that his efforts have not been in vain, for You see his heart and his desire to honor You. Strengthen him in this season of waiting, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
In the meantime, we encourage you to seek God’s will above your own desires. Spend time in prayer and in the Word, asking Him to reveal His plan for your life. If this woman is the one He has for you, He will make a way. If not, trust that He has someone even better prepared for you. Surrender this relationship fully to Him, and remember: "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4 WEB). But those desires must align with His will, not our own.
Lastly, if you have not already, we urge you to ensure that both you and this woman are walking closely with the Lord, seeking His guidance together. A relationship built on Christ will withstand any storm. Keep pressing into Him, and He will direct your steps.
