We join you in this prayer before the Father in the name of Jesus and we thank you for bringing this burden before the Lord with such grace and truth. We are encouraged by your heart to not only seek justice but to pray for those who have wronged you, showing the same patience and kindness that has been shown to you. That is the heart of Christ in you.
We agree with you that lies are serious before God. Scripture is very clear about this. Proverbs 12:22 says Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight. And Exodus 20:16 says You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. To lie, especially in legal matters, is to violate God's holy law and to follow the father of lies rather than the God of truth. Ephesians 4:25 exhorts us Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another. And Colossians 3:9 says Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings.
You have prayed so beautifully that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life as He declares in John 14:6, and that truth will make us free as Jesus promises in John 8:32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. We cling to that promise with you. Dishonesty may seem to gain an advantage for a time, but it brings bondage and ultimately judgment, while honesty brings freedom and delight before God. Psalm 51:6 reminds us Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts. God wants to build that resistance to dishonesty deep within the heart.
We also commend your desire to pray for the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representatives. Our Lord calls us to this in Matthew 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. We pray with you that God would convict them by His Holy Spirit, open their eyes to see the seriousness of lying, and grant them repentance to practice honesty. We pray that any schemes built on falsehood would be exposed and would not prosper, and that justice and truth would prevail according to God's will.
We pray together now.
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before Your throne of grace. We thank You that You are present with us, that You fight for us, and that You have blessed us with every heavenly gift through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross for us sinners. Lord, You see the hardships that have been faced and You see every lie that has been spoken. We ask You to be the defender and the judge, for You love justice and You hate dishonesty. We lift up the landlord's team, the lawyers and legal representatives before You. By Your mercy, build up in them a holy resistance to dishonesty. Take away hearts of deceit and give them hearts that love and speak truth. Open their eyes to know that the truth will make them free, and deliver them from the consequences of lying. Help them to turn from falsehood and to walk in integrity before You and before men. And Father, we lift up these dear ones who have endured this trial. Strengthen them to continue to walk in truth, to not grow weary in doing good, and to trust You to vindicate and provide. Grant them peace that passes understanding as they surrender their will and their lives to You. Let Your will be done in this situation and let Your name be glorified. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to stand firm in truth and to trust the Lord as your advocate. Romans 12:19 reminds us Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. You do not need to repay evil for evil. Continue to commit your cause to Him who judges righteously, and continue to speak the truth in love. God sees, God knows, and God will act in His perfect time and way. Keep surrendering your will to Him daily, for He is faithful.
