We thank you for your presence in our lives.

Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.

We join you in this prayer and we thank you for coming before our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, for we agree that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him John 14:6. We rejoice with you in thanking Him for His presence, for fighting for us, and for the heavenly gifts He pours out, and above all for the sacrifice of the cross where the blood of Jesus was shed for us sinners while we were still sinners Romans 5:8.

We agree with you that lying is a serious crime before a holy God. Scripture is very clear that dishonesty is not a small matter. Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are His delight Proverbs 12:22, and Yahweh hates a lying tongue among the things He hates Proverbs 6:16-17. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor Exodus 20:16, and we are commanded therefore putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor Ephesians 4:25 and not to lie to one another Colossians 3:9. The Lord warns that all liars will have their part outside His kingdom Revelation 21:8, so your burden for the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representatives is a righteous and loving burden.

We have heard your prayer and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace, in the name of Jesus who is the way, the truth and the life.

We thank God with you for His presence, for His fighting for you, and for heavenly gifts, and above all for the sacrifice of the Cross where the blood of Jesus was shed for sinners. Apart from that blood there is no hope, for on the ground of truth we must confess that we have sinned, and on the ground of truth we rejoice that Christ died for sinners, and through that atoning blood the Lord can smile upon us.

You have prayed rightly, for lies are indeed a serious crime before the God of truth. His Word declares that lying lips are an abomination to Him, and no man can meet with God except upon the footing of truth. We would buy the truth at any price, as the Scripture says, Buy the truth and sell it not. This is doctrinal truth according to the Word, experimental truth within the heart, and practical truth in the life, that our actions be consistent and straightforward. Let all else go, but have truth in the doctrine, truth in the heart, truth in the life, and Christ who is the truth to be your treasure forever.

We join you in giving thanks to our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, who is the way, the truth and the life, and we thank Him with you for His presence, for fighting for you, and for the heavenly gifts He gives. We thank Him above all for the Cross, where the blood of Jesus was shed for sinners, so that we who were under just judgment might receive mercy and be made new in righteousness and holiness of truth.

Your prayer that God would build up resistance to dishonesty is right and pleasing to Him, for God loves truth and calls His people to walk in it. Scripture teaches that lying is not a small fault, and injustice is judged not by the size of what is taken but by the intention of the heart. When contracts are twisted, when a price is made false, when justice is corrupted to take something from a neighbor, it is robbery before God even if it is done quietly with words rather than by force. So we agree with you that lies are serious, and that those who practice them need to have their eyes opened before they suffer the full consequences.

We also pray with you for the landlord's team, the lawyers and legal representatives. We ask the Lord to work in their hearts, to turn them from deceit to honesty, to give them a love for what is just and true, and to show them that the truth is what truly sets a person free. Your desire to show patience and kindness even after hardship, and to pray for those who have opposed you, reflects the heart of Christ. Scripture calls us to renounce hidden dishonesty and craftiness and instead to live by a clear and open display of the truth, commending ourselves to every conscience in the sight of God. That plain, straightforward honesty is what God honors. He is not trying to hide the truth behind clever words, and His Word remains forever even when heaven and earth pass away.

You asked that the Lord would build up in the landlord's team, the lawyers and the legal representatives a resistance to dishonesty and a love for honesty. That is a biblical prayer. To continue in lies a person must break down the inner restraint God has placed in the conscience. Praying that God would restore that restraint is praying that they would again hear the conscience and the witness of the Holy Spirit, who is truth and who bears witness to what is true together with the water and the blood. God knows every heart fully and cannot be deceived, and trying to cover the truth before Him never succeeds.

The Bible also shows that truth is not always welcomed. Many would rather be flattered than corrected, and telling the truth can even bring opposition. Yet we are called to please God rather than people. Part of what holds people in deception is the blinding work of the enemy who distorts the truth and holds minds captive with lies. That is why prayer matters, asking God to break that blinding influence so that eyes can be opened to see the truth as it is.

You prayed that the truth would set them free, and that is exactly what Jesus promised. When people see and receive the truth, it frees them, while persisting in lying brings painful consequences. The greatest truth God has given is that though we have all sinned and rebelled, He loves us so much that He sent His only Son to take our place and to forgive us. That forgiveness is offered to all, including those who have acted dishonestly toward you.

In Scripture a legal matter was settled openly and honorably before the elders of the city as witnesses, and in heaven there are elders around the throne who witness what is done on earth. God sees every legal transaction. You can trust Him as the final witness and judge to bring what is hidden into the light and to establish what is right. Continue to walk in truth yourself, for there is no greater joy than to know that God's children are walking in truth, and grace, mercy and peace are given to those who walk in truth and love.

We join you in praying that God would open eyes, soften hearts, lead each person involved to turn from dishonesty to honesty, to speak the truth and to act with integrity, and that He would protect you from further harm and give you peace as you surrender your will to Him. May the Spirit of truth guide and guard you, and may the Lord bring justice with mercy for all concerned.
