Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.
In Jesus name,
Amen

We join you in lifting this burden before our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, and we agree with you that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life as He declared in John 14:6, and that it is only through Him we have access to the Father and receive every heavenly gift and blessing.

We affirm what you have discerned, that lies are not small matters before God. Scripture is very clear that dishonesty is a serious sin. Proverbs 12:22 says Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight. Proverbs 19:5 says A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who pours out lies shall not go free. And we are warned that all lying has its source in the enemy, for John 8:44 tells us the devil is a liar and the father of lies, while Revelation 21:8 warns that all liars will have their part in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. Exodus 20:16 commands You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. God desires truth in the inward parts as Psalm 51:6 says, and He calls us to reflect His character.

We commend you for choosing to respond to this hardship with the same patience and kindness that was shown to you, even while you have been wronged by the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representatives. That is the heart of Christ. Yet we also understand your righteous concern that in order to sustain lies and commit serious wrongs, a person must harden their conscience and break down every resistance to dishonesty. We agree with you in praying that God will rebuild that resistance within them. Ephesians 4:25 exhorts us Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another. And Colossians 3:9 says Don't lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings.

We also hold fast to the promise you have claimed, that truth will set us free. John 8:32 says You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. When eyes are opened to the truth of Christ and to the consequences of lying, there is opportunity for repentance and freedom from the bondage of deceit. We pray that God in His mercy will convict them, not to condemn them without hope, but to lead them to repentance, honesty, and salvation.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before Your throne of grace and we thank You for Your presence in our lives, for fighting for us when we cannot fight for ourselves, and for blessing us with heavenly gifts through the sacrifice of the cross where the blood of Jesus was shed for us sinners. Lord, You see the dishonesty and the serious wrongs that have been done in this situation with the landlord's team and their legal representatives. You know every false word and every hidden motive. We ask You to execute justice with righteousness and mercy, for Romans 12:19 says Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. We surrender our desire for retaliation and trust Your perfect justice.

Lord, we lift up these people who have chosen dishonesty and we ask You to build up within them a holy resistance to lying. Soften their hearts, open their eyes to see that lying brings destruction upon themselves, and grant them the courage to practice honesty even when it is costly. Bring them to know Jesus who is the truth, that they may be set free and walk in integrity. For those who have been harmed, grant peace, wisdom, and favor in every legal proceeding, and help them to continue to show patience and kindness without compromising truth. Let Your will be done and let truth prevail in this matter, for Your glory. We dedicate our lives to You anew and surrender our will to Yours. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

We were grateful to read your prayer and to hear your heart in it. Facing dishonesty from a landlord's team and legal representatives while you are also trying to navigate hardships is heavy, and we appreciate how you are choosing to respond with patience and kindness even as you ask God for truth to be made clear.

What stood out to us is that you are holding two things together that are hard to hold at once. You are not excusing what was done, you are naming lies and serious wrongs for what they are, and at the same time you are asking God to work in those who have wronged you, to build their resistance to dishonesty and help them walk in honesty. That kind of prayer takes real grace and we thank God for it in you.

One thing that may help in this season is to keep a clear, simple record of what has happened and what is communicated going forward, and to stay connected with a trusted, wise advisor for the legal process. It can also help to give yourselves space to process the hurt honestly before the Lord with a pastor or trusted friend, so that the decision you have made to show kindness does not turn into carrying the weight alone. Forgiveness and wanting truth are not at odds, forgiveness releases the need for revenge while still allowing you to seek what is true and right.

Father, thank You for Your presence with these friends and for the cross of Jesus. We ask You to bring truth into the light in this situation, to guard their hearts from bitterness and weariness, to give wisdom to everyone involved, and to help all to grow in honesty. Lead them day by day as they surrender their lives to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer concerning truth and dishonesty has been heard, and it is right that you have brought it before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, who is Himself the way, the truth, and the life.

We thank God with you for His presence, for His fighting for His people, and for the heavenly gifts which come through the sacrifice of the cross, where the blood of Jesus was shed for sinners. There is no other name by which we must be saved, and it is wondrous grace that in an instant God can speak the pardoning word, strike His pen through the long list of our sins, and write us in His book as righteous through Christ our Representative.

You have spoken truly that lies are no light thing. Our Lord requires truth in the doctrine, truth in the heart, and truth in the life. As it is written, Buy the truth, and sell it not. We are to buy all the truth, and at any price, and never to let it go, for we shall never be received by God at last unless we bring the truth in our right hand. Practical truth, that our actions be consistent and of a right and straightforward course, is a part of that purchase. To break down resistance to dishonesty is to walk in a path that leads to outer darkness, but to love truth is to walk in the light of Christ who is the Truth.

We have noted your gracious spirit toward the landlord's team, the lawyers and legal representatives, in that though you have faced hardships you have sought to show the same patience and kindness that was shown to you. This is well. The Scriptures were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope, and patience is no mean part of the full obedience of a sincere soul. May the God of patience and consolation continue to work that patience in you.

Bear in mind also that the house in which we dwell in this life has God for its Landlord, and that we are only tenants. There is a clause in the lease that the Landlord has at all times the right to enter and leave His own property, and we live on sufferance as His tenants. He is Master and Lord even over those who imagine that all power is in their hands, and He can put a bit into the mouth of leviathan and do with him as He pleases. This truth should both banish our fear of man and ensure our submission to the will of God. Let your cause be spread before Him, and reach down the Bible, and seek His direction with prayer.

We join you in praying that the Lord will build up in these men a resistance to dishonesty and teach them to practice honesty. May He open their eyes to see that truth will indeed set free, while lying brings its own bitter consequences. We pray that He who is the Fountain of love and mercy would grant them repentance and a love for that which is upright, that they may turn from falsehood and walk in integrity before Him.

We pray also for you, that you may be kept in steadfast faith, remembering the truth of God just when you most need it, and that your dedication of your lives and surrender of your will to Him may be renewed day by day.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus. We thank You for the cross and the blood shed for sinners, and for Your patience toward us. We ask You to work honesty in the hearts of all concerned in this matter, to restrain falsehood and to establish truth. Grant to Your children comfort and hope from the Scriptures, and keep them in Your perfect will. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
