Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.

We join you in coming before the Father in the name of Jesus, and we thank you for approaching the throne of grace correctly, for Jesus himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. We rejoice that you have acknowledged His sacrifice on the cross where His blood was shed for us sinners, and that you are trusting in His presence and His power to fight for you.

We agree with you that lies are serious sins before God. Scripture is very clear that dishonesty is not a small matter. Proverbs 12:22 says Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who deal truly are his delight. And Ephesians 4:25 exhorts us, Therefore putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another. Colossians 3:9 says Don't lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings. The Lord commands in Exodus 20:16, You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. To lie repeatedly and to commit crimes built upon lies requires a hardening of the conscience, a breaking down of the resistance to dishonesty that God has placed in the heart, and that is why your prayer is so biblical and so needed.

We also see the grace of God at work in you, that even while facing hardships from this landlord's team, lawyers and legal representatives, you have been given grace to show patience and kindness. This reflects the heart of Christ who calls us in Matthew 5:44 to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. We also remember Romans 12:17-19 which tells us Don't repay anyone evil for evil. Consider what is good in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. You are right to seek truth and justice, and also right to leave vengeance to God while praying for the repentance of those who have wronged you.

We rebuke the spirit of dishonesty and the practice of lying, for all liars will face serious consequences unless they repent. Revelation 21:8 warns that for the cowardly, unbelieving, sinners, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death. The truth you have clung to is the only path to freedom, as Jesus promised in John 8:32, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. We pray that those who have chosen falsehood will come to see that a lie may seem to bring temporary advantage but it brings bondage and judgment, while honesty brings freedom and life.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before you and we thank you for your presence in our lives and for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts. We thank you for the cross and for the blood of Jesus shed for sinners. Lord, we lift up this situation of dishonesty and legal hardship before you. You see every lie that has been spoken and every crime that has been committed. Nothing is hidden from your sight. We ask that you would build up in the hearts of this landlord's team, their lawyers and legal representatives, a holy resistance to dishonesty. Convict them by your Holy Spirit, open their eyes to see that you hate lying lips and delight in truth, and grant them repentance that they would turn from falsehood and practice honesty. Let them know that truth will make them free, and save them from the consequences of persisting in lies. We ask for your justice to be done according to your perfect will, and for your mercy to lead them to salvation in Christ if they do not yet know you. For our brothers and sisters who have suffered hardship, we ask that you strengthen them, guard their hearts from bitterness, keep them in your patience and kindness, provide for their needs, vindicate the truth, and help them to fully surrender their lives and will to you daily. Let your will be done and let your name be glorified in the outcome. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We were moved by your prayer. You have been through a hard stretch with your landlord's team and the legal process, and yet you are asking God to work in their hearts toward honesty rather than asking for harm to come to them. That is a gracious posture and not an easy one to hold when you have felt the cost of dishonesty.

We hear how seriously you take truth, and also how tired you must be from carrying this dispute. Wanting truth to prevail while still showing patience and kindness can leave an injustice gap inside, where what you hope for and what you are experiencing don't line up yet. It helps to remember that choosing to act with kindness is one decision, and finding emotional peace about what has happened is a slower process that takes time. You can be faithful in the first while God gently works on the second.

One steady next step that helps many in a prolonged housing or legal strain is to keep a simple, factual record with dates, what was said or promised, and copies of letters, and to keep a trusted, wise person in the loop who can look at it with you objectively. It protects truth without requiring you to carry it all alone.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift this whole situation to you. Build in each person involved a love for what is true and a willingness to act honestly. Give our friend strength, clarity and peace as they wait on you, and guard their heart from bitterness. Lead this matter toward what is right and good. Amen.

Your prayer has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace, where truth reigns and mercy flows through the blood of the cross.

We thank God with you that Jesus is indeed the way, the truth and the life, and that no man comes unto the Father but by Him. You have done well to come in His name alone, for there is no other sacrifice for sinners and no other ground upon which we may stand. As it is written, your Word is truth, and Christ Himself did not merely speak the truth but was truth, transparent in word and in deed. To know Him is to love truth and to walk in it.

You rightly call dishonesty what it is, a serious offense against the God who cannot lie. The Lord God is abundant in goodness and truth, and His very holiness requires that He be true. He will not deny Himself, and sooner shall heaven and earth pass away than one of His promises fall to the ground. To lie is to depart from His character, and Scripture warns us that lying lips are an abomination to Him. We therefore pray with you that the Lord would work honestly in the hearts of all concerned, the landlord's team, the lawyers and legal representatives, that He would build up in them a holy resistance to falsehood and a love for that which is upright.

We rejoice to hear that in the midst of hardship you have been given grace to show patience and kindness. This is to overcome evil with good, which is the Christian's calling. Continue in this, looking to Christ your familiar Friend who lives and reigns, and who gives power to His people to live truthfully before men. Buy the truth, as the wise man says, and sell it not. Buy it in doctrine from the Holy Scriptures which are the standard of truth, buy it in the heart by experience through the Holy Spirit, and buy it in the life by practical obedience, letting your actions be consistent and straightforward before God and man.

We pray that the Spirit of God, who alone makes the truth saving and powerful, would accompany the truth to every conscience in this matter. May He open eyes to see that the truth shall make you free, while lies bring bondage and sorrow and must bear their consequences. May He bring honest dealing, so that all may meet God on the ground of truth, confessing sin where sin has been committed, and finding forgiveness only through the atoning blood of Jesus.

We commend you and this whole cause to Him who is faithful and true. May you be strengthened to surrender your will daily to His will, to trust Him when the way is hard, and to remember that the Lord will fight for you. He who has blessed you with heavenly gifts in Christ will not forsake you now.

We pray that the Lord would establish truth in every heart and every proceeding, that righteousness might prevail and that His name might be glorified in your patience, your honesty, and your dependence upon Christ.
