Dishonesty

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.
In Jesus name,
Amen

We stand together in agreement, lifting this matter of dishonesty before our Heavenly Father, who is the very foundation of truth. The scriptures declare in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God, and it is His truth that sets us free, as He Himself proclaimed in John 8:32, "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."

Dishonesty is indeed a serious matter, for Proverbs 12:22 tells us, "Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight." The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy through deception, but we know that Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke every lie, every scheme of the devil, and every spirit of deception that has taken root in this situation. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

We also lift up the landlord’s team, lawyers, and legal representatives. Though they may have acted in dishonesty, we pray that the Lord would soften their hearts and open their eyes to the truth. Ezekiel 33:11 reminds us, "Tell them, ‘As I live,’ says the Lord Yahweh, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why will you die, house of Israel?’" We ask that you would convict them of their sin and lead them to repentance, that they may turn from their ways and embrace honesty.

Father, we thank you for the grace you have given to extend patience and kindness even in the face of hardship. Your Word instructs us in Romans 12:20-21, "If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head. Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." We ask that you continue to fill us with your Spirit, that we may respond in a manner that honors you, even when wronged.

We pray that you would build up resistance to dishonesty in the hearts of those involved. Let them be rooted and grounded in truth, as Ephesians 4:25 exhorts, "Therefore putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor, for we are members of one another." May they come to understand that honesty is not only a commandment but a blessing, for Proverbs 19:1 says, "Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than he who is perverse in his lips and is a fool."

Lord, we surrender this situation entirely to you, trusting that you will bring justice and truth to light. We declare that the truth will prevail, for you are a God of justice, and you will not be mocked (Galatians 6:7). We ask that you would expose every lie and bring restoration where there has been deception. Let your light shine in the darkness, and may those who have been dishonest come to know the freedom that is found only in you.

We dedicate our lives to you, Lord, and we ask that you would use this situation for your glory. May your name be exalted, and may your will be done. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the way, the truth, and the life. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this prayer with us. We hear how heavy this season with your landlord's team and the legal representatives has been, and how much you want truth to prevail without losing the patience and kindness God has shown you.

We are encouraged by the way you are praying not only for your own situation but for those you feel have acted dishonestly, asking God to strengthen their resistance to dishonesty and draw them toward honesty. That kind of prayer is not easy when you have faced hardship, and it reflects a real decision to release the desire for revenge and to want good for them instead. At the same time we know the feelings of hurt and frustration do not always lift right away, and it is normal for those emotions to take longer to settle even after you have made that decision.

One steady next step that may help you walk in both truth and peace is to keep a simple, factual written record of dates, conversations and documents related to the case, and to have a trusted wise counselor or advocate review it with you when decisions need to be made. It can keep you grounded in facts while you continue to entrust the outcome to God.

Father, we lift this situation to You in Jesus' name. We ask You to guard our friend's heart with Your peace, to guide every legal conversation toward truth, and to work in the hearts of all involved to love honesty. Give wisdom for each next decision and strength to keep walking in patience and kindness. Amen.

Your prayer is heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace, giving thanks with you for the presence of the Lord in your lives, for His fighting for you, and for the heavenly gifts which come through the blood of the Cross where Jesus shed His blood for sinners. We rejoice that you have come in the name of Jesus, who is Himself the way, the truth, and the life, and apart from whom no man comes unto the Father.

You have done well to call lies what they are, serious crimes before a God of truth. The Scripture declares that lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, and that your Word is truth. To love truth is to love Christ Himself, for He is the Truth. As we have often taught, we must buy the truth and sell it not, buying it at any price. There is doctrinal truth to be bought in Holy Scripture, which is the standard of all truth, and there is experimental truth to be known within the heart, and there is practical truth to be lived in honest dealing before God and man. Let all go, but have truth in the doctrine, truth in the heart, truth in the life, and Christ who is the Truth to be your treasure forever. The truth indeed shall make you free, as you have prayed, and it is that freedom we desire for you and for those who have dealt dishonestly with you.

We thank God for the grace He has already given you to show patience and kindness under hardship, even to those who have opposed you. This is to overcome evil with good, which is the Christian's calling. Continue in that spirit, not being overcome of evil, but overcoming evil with good, while still loving and contending for truth. The war between right and wrong must be continued until truth has the victory, and we are to be valiant for God and for His truth, yet with meekness and forbearance, remembering that we wrestle not against flesh and blood alone.

We now make our prayer with you for the landlord's team, for lawyers and legal representatives. We do not ask God to bless dishonesty, for He cannot bless what He condemns, but we ask Him to work in them according to truth and righteousness. We pray that the Lord who meets a man upon the ground of truth would convict them where they have broken down resistance to dishonesty, that He would build up in them a holy resistance to lying, that He would open their eyes to see that honesty is not only right but freeing, and that the consequences of lying are grievous before God and man. May the Spirit of God bring them to honest dealing, to speak the truth in love, and to act with straightforwardness. And above all we pray that they may be brought to know Christ who is the Truth, for only when the truth is in a man is he saved, and only through the atoning blood can any sinner, whether deceitful or deceived, stand clean before a holy God.

We pray also for you, that this truth would banish your fear of man, for why should you fear man that shall die, and that it would strengthen your faith to trust God in the storm as well as in the calm. The Lord knows how to direct your steps, and your way is not in your own hands. Commit your cause to Him who judges righteously, walk in integrity, and leave vengeance and vindication to Him.

May the Lord keep you in His truth, establish you in patience and kindness, and cause truth to spring up and justice to prevail. We surrender your lives and your will anew to Him, trusting that He who has begun a good work will perfect it, and that He will make all things work together for good to them that love Him.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our only Saviour and Advocate, we pray. Amen.
