Thank you for sharing honestly about the deep disappointment you are carrying right now. It is heard, and you are not alone in feeling pressed and perplexed by life.

Scripture reminds us that God has not inclined toward us to destroy us but to save us. The proof is that He has given His own Son for us, given Him even to death, so that we might be saved and delivered. If He has done this greatest thing, we can have hope for all kindness from Him now. Because of that love we do not need to despair of ourselves when we come to Him, even when present evils feel heavy.

The apostle says we are pressed on every side yet not crushed, perplexed yet not unto despair, pursued yet not forsaken. That is how God works with His people. He allows pressure but He also sustains. And as you walk through this season, patience works endurance and endurance works hope, and that hope does not deceive.

We are saved by hope, not by having everything we long for already in sight. Hope is the gift we bring to God, trusting Him for what He has promised still to come. While it is still called Today, there is hope. As long as we live in this world, Today remains, and no one needs to remain in despair. Even the enemy never gives up hope for our ruin, how much more should we not give up hope for our salvation when God Himself is for us.

So we will pray for you.

Father in heaven, we thank You that You desire to save and not to destroy, and that You gave Your only Son for us. We lift up this dear one who feels extremely disappointed. Comfort this heart, lift the weight of discouragement, and renew hope. Help in this pressing and perplexity to know that though pressed, there is not crushing, though perplexed, there is not despair, because You do not forsake Your own. Give patience and endurance, and strengthen hope in Your promises and in the good gifts already given in Christ. Keep this soul holding fast to hope, looking to You day by day while it is still called Today, and bring the peace that comes from trusting You. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.
