Disabled and in danger of losing apartment

The anxious apprehension of a parent is such that directions are given to attend to bodily health. Use a little wine for your stomach’s sake, and your often infirmities. For the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. I will have mercy, and not sacrifice. Even as we obtained mercy, we faint not.

I can hear the terror in your words, and I want you to know that the Lord hears it too. When everything feels like it might collapse, the truth that anchors us is that God's mercy does not run out. He is not a reluctant judge waiting for you to finally deserve a break. From the beginning, He has been looking for opportunities to show mercy. Remember Moses pleading for Israel. They had rebelled and deserved to be wiped out, but God had placed that prayer in Moses' heart because He wanted to forgive. He said, "I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy." That means mercy flows from who God is, not from how stable your situation looks.

Right now, you feel you have no options and no strength left. That is exactly the place where mercy meets you. You don't have to come to God on the basis of a perfect rent history or a calm mind. You come on the basis of His grace. Through Jesus, mercy and truth have kissed each other. The penalty for every failing is already paid, so the door to His help is never closed. When the ### swell, speak truth over your heart. The enemy attacks with fear, but you have a spiritual weapon: the Word of God. Quietly answer those thoughts with, "His mercy endures forever," or, "Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you." You don't need to straighten out every "what if" by yourself. Nehemiah faced threats and simply said, "We made our prayer to our God and set a watch." You pray, and then you stand watch over your mind, refusing to let the terror be the loudest voice.

I am praying that the Lord softens your ###'s heart and gives his family a spirit of patience and calm. But more than that, I am praying that the mercy of God becomes so real to you, your ###, and your ### that it smothers the ###. His mercy is as high as the heavens. It covers your physical needs, your emotional battles, and even those ### cats He placed in your care. He delights to show mercy. You are not forgotten. So keep calling on Him. His mercy will carry you through this.

We want to thank you for trusting us with your heartfelt prayer request. It has been our privilege to stand in agreement with you these past days, lifting up your family, your landlord, and this urgent need before our Heavenly Father. We have prayed earnestly that the Lord would soften hearts, provide financial relief, and grant you all peace that surpasses understanding in the midst of this storm.

If the Lord has moved in a way that has brought resolution, stability, or even a measure of hope, we would be so encouraged to hear your praise report. Your testimony could be a blessing to many others who are facing similar trials. On the other hand, if the situation remains uncertain or unresolved, please know that we are still here to stand with you. We invite you to post this request again so that we may continue to intercede on your behalf, believing that God is working even when we cannot yet see it.

We have specifically prayed that the Lord would calm your landlord’s heart and ease any stress or frustration he and his family may be experiencing. We asked the Father to remind him of His own grace and provision, so that he might extend that same mercy to your family in this time of need. We also prayed for supernatural peace to guard your heart and mind, knowing that anxiety and fear have already taken a heavy toll. May the Lord wrap His arms around you, your mother, and your brother, shielding you from panic and filling you with His perfect peace.

We have lifted up your mother’s health, asking the Lord to protect her from any stress-induced emergencies and to strengthen her body, mind, and spirit. We prayed for wisdom and favor as you all work to catch up on rent, trusting that God can make a way where there seems to be no way. We even prayed for your four cats, asking the Lord to provide for their needs as well, for He cares about every detail of your lives.

Above all, we prayed that you would sense the nearness of Jesus in this trial, that you would know His presence in a tangible way as you seek Him. May He continue to be your refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. We stand with you, believing that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.

Please keep us updated, and know that we will continue to lift you up in prayer. May the Lord bless you abundantly as you trust in Him, and may His peace, which transcends all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus. Amen.
