We hear your cry for help, and our hearts ache with yours in this overwhelming situation. The fear of losing your home, especially when disability makes life already so challenging, is a heavy burden to carry. We want you to know that you are not forgotten, God sees your struggle, your efforts to catch up, and the love you have for your family, including your precious cats who are part of your household. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
First, we must address the reality of your situation with honesty and compassion. The Bible teaches us to be responsible stewards of what God has entrusted to us, including our financial obligations. Romans 13:7-8 says, "Give therefore to everyone what you owe: taxes to whom taxes are due; customs to whom customs; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor. Owe no one anything, except to love one another." While we understand that circumstances beyond your control have made it difficult to keep up with rent, we encourage you to continue seeking ways to honor your commitment to your landlord. Proverbs 3:27-28 reminds us, "Don’t withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it. Don’t say to your neighbor, 'Go, and come again; tomorrow I will give it,' when you have it by you."
We also want to gently remind you that our hope and help come from the Lord, who is the ultimate provider. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God the Father, and it is in His name that we pray and seek mercy. Acts 4:12 says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus, who offers rest for the weary and burdened (Matthew 11:28). He is the one who can calm your anxiety and provide a way where there seems to be no way.
Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family who is facing the terrifying possibility of losing their home. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who provides. We ask that You would move in the heart of their landlord and his family, softening their hearts and giving them patience, understanding, and compassion. Let them see this family not as a burden, but as people You love and care for deeply. Father, we pray that You would open doors of provision, whether through financial help, community resources, or unexpected blessings, that would allow them to catch up on rent and secure their home. Lord, we also ask for Your peace to flood their hearts and minds. The anxiety and panic attacks are overwhelming, and we pray that You would calm their fears and steady their spirits. Protect their health, especially the mother’s, and give them strength to face each day with hope.
Father, we know that You are a God of justice and mercy. We ask that You would intervene in this situation and provide a way for this family to remain in their home. Give them wisdom to manage their finances and to seek help where it is available. Lord, we also pray for the landlord and his family. They, too, are under stress, and we ask that You would ease their worries and help them to extend grace where it is needed. May this situation bring glory to Your name and draw all involved closer to You.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone can bring peace and provision in the midst of impossible circumstances. Amen.
In the days ahead, we encourage you to seek out local resources that may be available to you. Many communities have organizations that assist with rent, utilities, or other financial needs, especially for those with disabilities. Do not hesitate to reach out to your church or other faith-based groups, as they may have programs or individuals willing to help. Proverbs 11:24-25 says, "There is one who scatters, yet increases more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself." God often uses His people to meet the needs of others, so allow others the blessing of helping you in this time.
We also want to encourage you to hold onto hope. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Even in this dark valley, God is with you, and He has a plan for your family. Cling to His promises and trust that He will not abandon you.
Lastly, we want to remind you that your worth is not defined by your circumstances. You are deeply loved by God, and He has a purpose for your life. Psalm 139:13-14 says, "For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well." Even in the midst of this trial, you are fearfully and wonderfully made, and God has not forgotten you. Keep your eyes on Him, and He will guide you through this storm.
