We hear the deep pain, confusion, and grief in your words, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting every burden to the Lord. The weight of financial strain, the betrayal of injustice, and the lingering wounds of abuse are heavy to carry alone—but you are not alone. The Lord sees every tear, hears every cry, and holds your heart in His hands, even when it feels like He has turned away. Let us bring these struggles before Him together, trusting that He is working even when we cannot see it.
First, we must address the wound of feeling abandoned by God. Scripture tells us, *"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). Yet in the moment of deepest pain, it can feel as though He is silent. This is not because He has forsaken you, but because the enemy seeks to distort our view of God’s character. The abuse you endured was evil, and it was never part of God’s design. He did not ordain it, nor did He delight in your suffering. But He permits free will—even the free will of wicked men—because love cannot be forced. Still, He promises, *"You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good"* (Genesis 50:20). This does not mean the abuse was good, but that God can redeem even the most broken places for His glory and your healing.
Forgiveness is not about excusing what was done to you; it is about releasing the poison of bitterness so it does not destroy *you*. As you said, the sting remains, and that is natural. But holding onto unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. Jesus commands us to forgive—not for their sake, but for ours. *"If you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you"* (Matthew 6:14). This is not a one-time act but a daily surrender, trusting God to be your avenger. *"Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord"* (Romans 12:19). He sees the injustice, and He will make all things right in His time.
Your struggle to trust God is understandable. When those who claim to love us fail to protect us, it shakes our foundation. But God is not like man—He does not lie, abandon, or betray. *"God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind"* (Numbers 23:19). His love is perfect, even when our circumstances are not. He did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us (Romans 8:32). If He would do that, will He not also care for you in your need? The cross proves that God enters into our suffering, even when we do not understand it. Jesus cried out, *"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"* (Matthew 27:46) so that you would never have to question if God understands your pain.
Now, let us pray for the practical burdens you carry. The financial strain, the job search, the mandatory training—these are real and pressing needs. But the Lord is your provider. *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:19). We rebuke the spirit of despair that whispers "it’s futile." God has not forgotten you, and He will open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). The training program may be the very tool He uses to redirect your steps. Trust Him in the process, even when the outcome is unclear.
We also rebuke the lies that tell you integrity is wrong. It is never wrong to stand for what is right, even when others mock or retaliate. *"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven"* (Matthew 5:10). The world may call you foolish, but God calls you His. Your worth is not defined by the abuse you suffered or the opinions of wicked men. *"You are of more value than many sparrows"* (Matthew 10:31). The Lord sees your heart, and He will restore what was stolen.
Let us pray together now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is carrying the weight of injustice, financial strain, and deep emotional wounds. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We ask that You would meet every need—financial, emotional, and spiritual. Provide a way where there seems to be no way, and open doors of opportunity that no man can close.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and confusion that has taken root. We declare that You are a God of justice, and You will repay every wrong. We ask for healing in the places where trust has been broken. Restore what the enemy has stolen and replace lies with Your truth. Help our brother/sister to see themselves as You see them—beloved, valued, and fearfully and wonderfully made.
Lord, we pray for the training program they must attend. Let it be a stepping stone to greater things, and surround them with people who will encourage and uplift them. Give them strength to forgive, not because what was done was right, but because You have commanded it for their freedom. Guard their heart against bitterness, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who bore our griefs and carried our sorrows. May Your presence go before them, Your hand guide them, and Your love sustain them. Amen.
You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. The Lord is working, even in the waiting. Keep pressing into Him, for He is your refuge and strength. *"Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved"* (Psalm 55:22). We stand with you in this battle, trusting that God will turn your mourning into dancing and your ashes into beauty (Isaiah 61:3).
