The weight of financial strain, the betrayal of injustice, and the lingering wounds of abuse are heavy to carry alone—but you are not alone. The Lord sees every tear, hears every cry, and holds your heart in His hands, even when it feels like He has turned away. Let us bring these struggles before Him together, trusting that He is working even when we cannot see it.
First, we must address the wound of feeling abandoned by God. Scripture tells us, *"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). Yet in the moment of deepest pain, it can feel as though He is silent. This is not because He has forsaken you, but because the enemy seeks to distort our view of God’s character. The abuse you endured was evil, and it was never part of God’s design. He did not ordain it, nor did He delight in your suffering. But He permits free will—even the free will of wicked men—because love cannot be forced. Still, He promises, *"You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good"* (Genesis 50:20). This does not mean the abuse was good, but that God can redeem even the most broken places for His glory and your healing.
Forgiveness is not about excusing what was done to you; it is about releasing the poison of bitterness so it does not destroy *you*. As you said, the sting remains, and that is natural. But holding onto unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. Jesus commands us to forgive—not for their sake, but for ours. *"If you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you"* (Matthew 6:14).
