We rejoice with you in this incredible milestone of graduating with your degree in psychology! Your gratitude toward God is a beautiful testament to His faithfulness in your life. Truly, as Philippians 1:6 reminds us, *"He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."* You have worked hard, but it is God who has sustained you, guided you, and brought you to this moment.
Your request for direction in choosing a graduate program is one we take before the Lord with great seriousness. Proverbs 3:5-6 exhorts us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* We pray that God would make His will unmistakably clear to you—whether through peace in your spirit, open doors, godly counsel, or the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit. Ask Him to reveal which program aligns with the purpose He has for you, and to close any doors that are not part of His plan.
We also lift up your struggle with unbelief and fear. Even the disciples, who walked with Jesus, cried out, *"Lord, increase our faith!"* (Luke 17:5). Doubt does not disqualify you—it is an opportunity to press deeper into God’s promises. We pray that He would strengthen your confidence in His character, reminding you of His past faithfulness as a foundation for your future. As you wait for His direction, meditate on Jeremiah 29:11: *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says the Lord, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."*
You desire to use your talents, tools, and resources to edify and glorify God’s kingdom, and this is a holy ambition. Colossians 3:23-24 encourages us, *"And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."* Whether in clinical practice, research, counseling, or academia, may your work reflect the love and truth of Christ. We pray that God would use your education to bring healing, hope, and light to those who are broken, just as He has done for you.
Father, we come before You now on behalf of our sister in Christ. Lord, You have been her light in the darkest valleys, and we ask that You would continue to illuminate her path. Grant her wisdom that surpasses her own understanding, and peace that guards her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Remove any fear or doubt that seeks to hinder her, and replace it with unwavering trust in Your perfect plan. Prepare her heart, mind, and spirit for the next season of her life, and let every decision she makes bring glory to Your name. May she walk in the confidence of Your calling, knowing that You who began this good work in her will be faithful to complete it.
We also ask that You would surround her with godly mentors, friends, and advisors who can speak truth and wisdom into her life. Let her be encouraged by those who have walked this path before her, and may she in turn be a blessing to others. Father, we ask that You would open the right doors for her graduate studies and close any that are not part of Your will. Give her clarity, patience, and discernment as she seeks Your direction.
Lord, we thank You for her life and for the way You are using her to advance Your kingdom. May she always remember that her worth and identity are found in You alone. Equip her with everything she needs to fulfill the purpose You have for her, and let her life be a testimony to Your goodness and grace. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
