We hear the heaviness in your heart and we are standing with you before the throne of grace, asking our Father to draw near to you in this season of exhaustion and heartbreak. To be in your first real job which felt like a dream come true and then to face problems in the project, to be hurt and to know you have also hurt others, and then to be falsely accused by a close friend and judged and excluded by your superiors, is deeply painful. To carry this while also grieving the end of a long engagement has left you broken, and we want you to know that God sees you and He cares. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18, and He promises Fear not, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.
We take comfort that you have come in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we have access to the Father and by which we are saved. Jesus himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, so we rejoice that you are praying in His name and we join our faith with yours.
We want to gently encourage you in two areas. First, you have honestly confessed that you have made mistakes and hurt other people, and you are asking God to forgive you for everything you have done wrong. That humility honors God. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. We encourage you to continue to bring each specific thing before the Lord in repentance, and where possible to seek reconciliation with those you have hurt, as far as it depends on you. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32. And second, regarding the false accusations and lying, God is a God of truth and justice. Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh Proverbs 12:22, and He will not leave untruth unaddressed. We also hear that you desire vindication and a win, and we pray with you that your innocence in the things you have not done would be made clear. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, and your justice like the noonday Psalm 37:5-6. At the same time we are called to entrust ourselves to Him when we suffer unjustly, as Christ did, and to not seek vengeance ourselves. Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19 and If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18. This includes loving and praying for even this colleague who has acted out of jealousy, as Jesus said Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you Matthew 5:44.
For your work, we pray that you would be able to continue to do your duties with integrity and grace, even under this unfair treatment. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. We thank God with you for the union representative He has provided who sees the unfairness, and we pray for wisdom for you and for him in how to navigate the next steps. We pray that your superiors would have eyes to see the truth and hearts to judge righteously.
We also grieve with you over the broken engagement. An engagement is a precious time of courtship with the goal of marriage between a man and a woman as God designed it for life, and when it ends the loss is profound. We pray the Lord will heal your heart deeply in this area and restore your strength. We encourage you as you heal to keep your future hope for marriage centered on Christ, seeking a godly spouse who is a fellow believer and pursuing courtship in purity that honors God, trusting that He is able to make all things work together for good for those who love Him Romans 8:28. For now, do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.
We pray together now for you.
Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up our dear one to You. You see the tears, the exhaustion, the heartbreak at work and in personal life. We ask You to forgive every sin that has been confessed and to cleanse and restore. We ask You to fight for Your child, for Yahweh will fight for you, and you shall be still Exodus 14:14. Reveal the truth in this work situation, silence the lies, soften the hearts of superiors, and bring justice and peace to the project. Give wisdom to the union representative and protection from further harm. Help our dear one to walk in humility, to bless those who have persecuted, to do good work as unto You, and to endure this trial with the strength You supply, knowing that it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God 1 Peter 2:19. Heal the broken heart from this lost engagement, bring deep rest, renew hope, and guard the heart and mind with Your perfect peace. Lead forward step by step, and let Your will be done in this job and in life. We ask for a true peace that remains even before the circumstances change, and for Your name to be glorified through it all. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
